13b exhaust for vw beetle

hi there all,
soon i will be building a custom exhaust for 13b b bridgeport (6 port) non turbo 88 series 4 with 51mm carby for my 1973 vw beetle using mandrel bends 304 ss 2" out of block into a y piece then into 2.5" diam connecting to a rotor flo resonator and rotor flo twin tip perf muffler!

just wandering what should the headers be lengh wise pls ?

i heard that the shorter they are the quicker the power band kicks in ?

over all, does sound like a good build exhaust for my 13 b engine as far as performance is concerned ?

any advice pls ?
cheers,regards
glen

You could just copy the RB header.

I don't know the exact dimensions, but I'm sure you can look at the picture and get a general idea. I always heard a general rule of thumb; at least 2" of straight out of the exhaust ports for max flow. Here you go.

Maybe because you are doing a custom exhaust on a car that never had a rotary in it to begin with?
You would start with a engine/exhaust flange that mates to the engine then the rest is honestly up to you.
Since the vast majority of members own a RX and not a VW,it is not a hindrance in this case. The point is that you are doing a custom piece that few have done and therefore you won't get a quick answer. In a way at least your thread is getting viewed but they are not replying with something that may be in the long run misleading.

*Fuhnortoner knows alot of crazy stuff..and makes a mean Duck a'lorange I hear..lol!

RB sells just the flange..
Or if you search a bit on here you may be able to find guys that make or made them.

*tip..maybe you can ask one of the Turbo manifold fabricators (Glease or Turblown come to mind) if they can either give you tips or sell you a flange to start you off?
