Hi All,

I'm still working on my streetport 12A project (shown in the link). I haven't had the time, money or tools to dedicate to this thing as I would like to, but it's coming along.

Anyway, I finally got some tools to cut the exhaust ports and I've started, but I have a question. What do you guys use to fill in the gaps and holes in and around the sleeves? This is a streetport, so I didn't think it was necessary to remove them. Any insight or advice from those with experience is welcome.

Just leave 'em be. At the velocities and pressures the exhaust gases are at as they flow through the port, it doesn't really matter.

Now, if you wanted to plug the air injection holes in the housings, that I could help you with. Some 5/16" rod chewed up in a vise to give it teeth, cut to roughly 3/4" lengths, coated with muffler-mender cement, and driven into the ports, will do the trick. You don't have to try to punch them through the sleeves and grind them flush, the plugs only need to seal the passages.

why do the air injection holes matter, while the other gaps do not?

With the air injection holes plugged, you can run any intake manifold you want and not have to worry about covering the passage in the center housing.

That's why I did it, anyway.
