I am curious what is lighter in weight the Tii whilte rims or the sunflower lookin rims that come on the 89+ GTU and GXL. The Tii rims are 16" and teh flower ones are 15". Let me know.

 

The most light stock wheels are the 'verts 15x6.5 BBS wheels.

Then the Series 4 14x5.5 inch phone dials

Followed by the 91 infini IV 16x7 BBS wheels.

Followed by the series 5 GTUs/T2 16x7 stock wheels (which really are wheels made under license from BBS)

Followed by the 91 coupes 15x6 five spoke.

Then the series 5 15x6 inch wheels

Then the series 4 15x6 balony cutters

Then the series 4 16x7 T2 wheels.

 

Got any pics so i can tell the difference between them all?

 

The 89+ TII wheels were lighter than the 87/88 TII wheels. You can litteraly juggle them without much effort.

 

Damn, you must be a beast!&nbsp Last time I tried to juggle a set of 16# bowling *****, I nearly tore my arm off!

I am glad my TII has Enkei RSEs on it...I'd hate to be in the "heaviest wheels" category.

 

actually after the first 4 (the BBS wheels and phone dial) they all get pretty heavy.

BTW: the Enkei RS-E Cast 16x7 weighs 18.1

if they really weigh 18 then i'm pretty sure my 91 n/a 5 spoke stock wheels are less..****, my FAKE volks only weigh 22 a piece, haha

Where can i get a set of the series 5 TII rims in brand new condition? or are they way to expensive to even think of getting them?

Hey I found something that said that the Infini 16x7 and 16x8 were only 15.3 and 15.6 lbs and available only in Japan.

But I can't confirm it for more than one source so take that with that knowledge.

 

You're right - they are wrong.&nbsp I got a little over 17# with balancing weights and valve stems still on them.&nbsp I would think they would weigh 17.00 lbs. even brand new.

Uh, I don't think so.&nbsp You guys underestimate the weight of 1-piece cast rims.&nbsp I'd bet those 5-spoke rims easily weigh over 15# and are more like 20# - anyone with a certified scale?

I think I have that picture of the Infini 16x7 BBS wheels somewhere. Mabey I can enlarge it a bit.

 

yeah, could be...seems like the S5 T2 rims have a lot shelled out, but they are 1 inch taller and 1 inch wider than the 15x6 n/a rims. i swapped my 91 n/a and 91 T2 rims last month. both with 205 tires, and judging by my arms, they were pretty even. if i had to choose just by picking them up though, i'd say the 91 n/a rims with tires were lighter...just my experience though

 

Stock rims on my Honda are 8lbs on our postage scale at work, would fit a 1st gen RX, but not 2nd. Makes my TII's Volk TE-37s look porky

 

Damn these are some heavy rims. Anyone know where to get some light rims (and not pay an arm and a leg?)

Lots of wheel weights. I've cross checked a few and they were accurate.

 

I don't know how much I would trust that chart, they have on the same chart two different weights for the same 95 Mazda/BBS 15x6 wheel.

 

I wouldn't trust anything without backing up the data elsewhere . If anything I'm sure it's a decent base from which to start.

I was pricing/researching Racing Hart CP-035s, SSR Integrals, SSR Comps, and Volk TE-37s. I cross-checked that data, and it was accurate. Meh, just trying to help.
