Yep, those wheel weights charts are not totally accurate.  With my certified scales, a number of those rims listed were totally wrong.  I think the people who collected all those numbers were just collecting them from different sources without verifying the accuracy.

I dunno how accurate this page is, and there aren't many FC rims listed, but he lists a LOT more aftermarket wheels than the Miata one.

Bigger rims are better cuz they go a farther distance during rotation, thats my philosophy and thats why im buying at least a 17 inch rim for my car

I would like to know where we could get some new factory wheels like some of these as well. What would be the best rim weight and width for the RX-7? I would like to know so I don't mess up everything.

This should end it in terms of the debate on how much 87 TII rims weigh.
I just weighed one of mine on multiple scales without tire or weights and came up with 29lbs even! Mine are also polished which removes metal from the rim although its a negligible amount im sure.
Those of you who got 24lbs must have weighed the 88 rims which might somehow be lighter. Either that or Mazda for some reason had two types of casting for these that affected the weights.
No wonder my car handles and rides so much nicer with my 89-91 TII rims! Theres 48lbs removed from the rolling stock!

Holy crap thats some heavy **** yo! I just put the 87 Tii rims on my rx and i hope i dont have to ride them around very long. I thought they were heavy at 24#'s let alone the 29#'s you are seeing. Dizam!!

I think my numbers came out to 27.0 lbs. for the 1987 Turbo II rims.
The 1989-1991 Turbo II/GTUs rims are more like 17.0 lbs. - I don't think the center caps weighs a whole pound.

UPDATE: 91 Coupe OE Wheel Weight!
I bought a brand new 91 Coupe rim to replace the one I bent (bought from mazdaformance $80 shipped, mazdarecycling wanted $75 PLUS shipping for a used one, HA!), I used a digital bathroom scale to minimize mechanical margin of error.
I used the technique of weighing myself first (I need to lose some weight! fast! ), and then weigh myself with me holding the rim. I did this several times, and I got this measurement:
this is the MAXIMUM weight I got from this wheel, I weighed it as light as 14lbs, but I put on the max measurement I got to be on the conservative side.
so there, this is probably the 2nd lightest 15" OE FC rim next to the BBS vert rims (which I also recently acquired used, will become autox rims ). I will use the same technique to confirm the already-measured 11.5lbs for those rims with the same technique when I take the old tires off of them to put on some R-compound race tires

crap, now I'm depressed. I bought some 87 T-II rims to be my summer/autoX rims. Ugh, but I'm worse off with those (except I will get a smaller diameter tire). But still...that sucks, now I want to sell them...
