a/c and idle problem. its gettin hot :(

Got some more info better info so I figured I'd start a new thread (and since no one was replying to the old one anymore )

Just got done with the sequential simplification (don't know if it has anything to do with these problems, but they happened to pop up after doing the simplification)

Problems
1. When cold idles around roughly idles around 400RPM, after warming up idles around 900-1200 RPM.

2. If I turn on the a/c while idleing the idle will drop to about 100-200RPM and the car will want to die, however if I leave the a/c on for about 10 seconds the idle will go back up to 900-1200 RPM, then after few more seconds it will drop back down to 100-200 RPM. IF left alone it continues this cycle.

3. a/c is blowing hot air. There is enough freon i the system.

During the simplicifaction I did elminate the throttle body coolant. Instead of wiring the cam on the TB half open, I removed the adjustment spring and and tightend the screw all the way down.

Please someone help. Its getting hot.

hmm yeah I was going to do that method too with the idle cam instead of wiring it that seemed easier. However I ran the coolant back into the TB now.

I'm not sure if the coolant rerouting and the A/C have to do with each other but my car was in the shop today to reseal the oil pan and check the a/c.

Mine also had all the freon in it but it just one day started blowing hot. What happened is the clutch switch on the compressor got fried and then burnt out the fuse for the a/c. Maybe that is your problem too? My car has 77k miles.

can you fix the clutch switch? or do you need to get a new compressor?

the switch is just a little part on the compressor. You could definetaly just replace the switch but it is costly from mazda and I'm not sure someone would sell you just that part off of their compressor.

I need one if you know of someone that's willing to part just with that part. : )

Check the a/c clutch? That fixed my hot air and my idle that would drop when I turned the a/c on.

Some more things I noticed.

If I let the car idle around 400 RPM or so wit the a/c on the air will slowly get cooler, but once I start drivign aorund it warms up again.

Any more help?

Is there a section on a/c in the FSM? I can't seem to find it.
