Weld SHUT or 90% OPEN
I’m hearing two different stories so I believe there is two different ways to do this (I know there are at least two ways to operate in non-seq (without going single)…Weld precontrol door SHUT or 90% open???

So I guess I want to hear from people who have done the FULL-NS conversion.

My full+ NS conversion has the precontrol gate lwelded 100% open. I do not think 90 or 100% makses any difference as far as affecting exhaust flow

If you are look straight at is if it were installed on the motor, weld it "shut".
Put the door in the position in which it covers the hole up and you can't see inside. Don't make it go too far, or the plate won't fit.
I put the plate back on and shut the flapper door. As far as you can go against the plate covering it.
Then just weld it.
Or you can just remove the flapper door all together.

We removed the pre-control door on my car completely (a), ported the housing, and drilled and tapped the hole where the door pivot used to be and installed a cast iron pipe plug to close it off (b).

We also enlarged the wastegate orifice and ported the area immediately behind it in the exhaust manifold to unshroud the wastegate door and allow more flow.

oh and that shield was a **** to get off, ended up braking a bolt and bending the F_out of it to get it off!!!

if you leave it shut, you're only getting half the exhaust flow that you could.....i did it like the above picture when i ran non-sequential.
i dont understand why anyone would shut it....maybe that's why you are spooling up so slow

I know it got confusing and I still don't know what I'm going to do.
Turbo Control ACT. was connected to the Exhaust Manifold, and that flapper door is definitely coming out, the precontrol door was connected to the turbo assembly, that door will either get welded SHUT or removed. When I first saw that door, I wondered why the write up said to weld open, when the other door was getting removed??? Seems that if you remove one why not remove both??? I make decisions like a woman, so I'll be changing my mind until I either weld it shut or remove it...
