My kit and all parts were puchased for through the RX7store.

SX FPR w/front gauge mount
1600injectors w/10 Ohm, 20 Watt resistors
Fuel Rail for 1600 Injectors
550 primaries (for now, probably put the 850's in on my new engine once we do the swap)
Nippedenso Fuel Pump (will eventually add a second out of tank pump for insurance)

Is the sx fpr w/front gauge mount a -6 line or -10 line. Also did the injectors come with the 10 ohm and 20 watt resistors.

thanks

rx-revin: -6 I believe. Had to get the resistors seperate, I think they were sourced via rx7.com.

you dont need resistors for the 1600s when running them with PFC. theres a way to get by this through the datalogit.

I know my setup is overkill, but I am running the Aeromotive pump in tank (I called and asked them), -10 line to a 3-way manifold, then -6 to each of the three rails, then the SX fuel pressure regulator, and -8 return.

that is close to my plan....
i am using a SX RRFPR (1:1)
720 primary
1680 sec.
and using E6K.

just to get the car up and running...i used the stupid rx7.com pump and stock 850's in the primary rail that was made to accept -6 fittings.
but i am going to the aeromotive pump and top feed 720's very soon.

Hey FortyOunce... how do you use the 1600cc injectors without the resistors? I have a PowerFC and datalogit and 1600cc's going in tomorrow... need to know how to set it up. Thanks.

I think the datalogit lets you set the size correctly (as the Commander is limited to 1500 cc/min) but you still need to run the resistors to mate with the saturated injector driver ("1600"s are low impedence for peak-hold driver circuits). It is possible that the PowerFC could handle low impedence injectors, but I doubt it, and the risk is that you burn out the injector driver circuit in the PowerFC ($1000 oops!). I just looked at my FC-Edit screens and there are no settings for injector type (peak-hold versus saturated). You still need the resistors.

I run upgraded nippon denso for pickup into a surge tank out into two bosch pumps one feeding primary rail with 850's one feeding secondary rail 1680's back into regulator back to tank. Some changes may be made in the future though.

this is the info i got from dave:

Hey Roy..with the datalogit you go to injector screen..if using 550
primaries you load the following

Pri frt 100% +0.04
Sec frt -- +0.12
Pri Rr 100% +0.04
Sec Rr -- +0.12

Inj Size Primary 550cc
Inj Size Secondary 1600cc

Pri/sec transition 40%
Sec mmsc 1.112

And away ya go...works well as a base to start from...hope this
helps...dave@KDR

try it and tell me how it works. i've only got enough money to build my car once
if it doesn't work out, i'm buying a G35 coupe and will enjoy comfort and style

stock 550cc primaries (for now)
1680cc seccondaries
k2rd fuel rail
sx rising rate 1:1 fpr
cosmo pump (plan to upgrade in future)

According to KDR you don't need resistors. I'm not sure how Dave does it, but I trust his work and go by what he says.

Sorry to nit-pick, but this is a major point of confusion in the community and I would like to see that situation improve. (Good to include the 1:1, Silver93TT -- that was very clear.)

This has been a point of debate, and after arguing against a 1:1 regulator being called "rising rate" I saw one listed that way in a catalog. But it doesn't make sense when you look at how it operates (fuel flow rate does not increase with 1:1) and the most common usages seem to be:

1:1 ratio with adjustable base pressure = "Adjustable FPR" perhaps with the additional tag "with manifold reference" to be clear about the 1:1 part (but all the ones commonly sold have are 1:1, so "AFPR" is probably enough).

>1:1 (probably adjustable) ratio = "RRFPR". Sometimes RRFPRs have additional settings, including base pressure and something like "rise point". But the fact that the rate is higher than 1:1 is what makes it a "rising rate" regulator.

These terms make sense and I would like to see them used and understood widely.

As I understand, the rising rate 1:1 regulator adds 1 psi fuel pressure for every psi of boost.
