synthetic or non syn? what type of oil is best for the fc? 89-92 s5

its summer time and I saved up some money to start working on my gtu , it is in need for an oil change..bad! but I'm stock on what type if oil will be best for this high reving motor.. I'm looking into royal purple.. but do not know if synthetic oil is the best choice? please any suggestion??

well synthetic is by far the best but if u are using your stock omp and not premixing then there is debate on wheather it is bad becasue synthetic dosent burn off as well as regular oil and leads to more carbon build up

thanks alot.. ive heard somthin about syn oil bening bad for rotary.. but its been half and half on that topic.. what do u think about using royal purple 5w20 on my gtu?

not sure i use pensoil and its 10w30 if u use royal purple im pretty sure that u should stick to the 10w 30 guideline

I think I'll stick to the 10w30 and try out royal p. thanks aloe man.

Good quality synthetics are a-ok for the rotary. Cheap synthetics are bad.

So Mobil 1 or Royal Purple = Yes
Castrol or Penzoil synthics = no

NO NO NO NO... READ THE FAQ FOR FC STICKY THREAD. (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/)

Hell, I don't even recommend 5W20 in a Renisis, well alone a FC motor...

20W50 or 10W30 based on the temp in your area.
