YES, I KNOW THE ISSUES!

my TII, has gone to nirvana and broke one apex seal in his way...

Well in a crossmember behind the stock FC stock engine cradle.
Use the stock FD3S engine mounts.
Call it a day.

Control of the engine is very similar to the FC's 13BT's.
I'd stay away from the stock twins.
They are not very reliable.

thought about this! the only problem i see is in the alignment of the engine, as there is no indication where exactly the engine has to sit (due to rubber mounts on the engine and gearbox), how high/low. how could i adjust it?

by the way: i love your page, especially the tech section - nice work man!!

Yeah, it's a question on how you want to mount the engine...
Cause, you're right - the stock 13BT is not mounted in the center of the transmission tunnel!
I can hear the gasps now...
Mazda mounting the engine slightly to the left to allow the exhaust to run down the same tunnel.
The car I worked on pushed the engine directly in the middle - easiest to measure - and we didn't have any problems with it running.

I guess you can mark the spot where your original 13B was sitting and then place it there, but I don't think a few mm ("inches" for us U.S. folks) off is going to make any difference.

Thanx for the kind words on the website!

i saw one last week where they just drilled the holes in the center housing and put it in with stock fc mounts, it really looked too easy.

ted's method works well too

Hopefully those mounts are sturdy enough, I've seen some pretty shady mounts made...

That sounds reasonable! i'll try it by just bolting the empty housings and see what fits best!
you're right, the hinges of the driveshaft should be able to compensate this little deviation in alignment!

yeah i heard of that method, but i'll have to take the tII oil pan and seal it in the front 'cause it's shorter than the rew's one. and by the way, what's going on with the left mount (driver side), is that one still in place with rew??

slo: A guy on the no pistons forum was or is making bolt in mounts for sale.
i'll check that!! thx

thanks guys, i appreciate your help!! any other comments??

ok so there are no aftermarket mounts available... i''l have to try to fabricate them myself... why not

is it possible to bolt the stock fan (stock pulley) to the front plate of the rew?
(please don't start a mech fan/electric fan discussion, just assume i'm veeery happy with the stock fans performance)

any other issuesi might consider??

Even if the FC pulley could bolt to the FD pump (no idea but I wouldn't count on it), it would place the fan in a different position compared to the FC and so require a custom fan shroud. You'd have to decide whether or not that's easier than using an e-fan.

aftermarket mounts http://www.motivefab.com/

stock harness and a PFC would be the best way to go IMO

okay, have some troubles with these abbreviations but i'll get used to it

the power fc would be a nice solution, thought about it... but:
don't flame me, i wanted to max out the stock twins, 'cause i like the low end response of them, don't think the PFC supports them, does it??
