PLZ STICKY: NorCal Steve Kan dyno tuning

I will be organizing another tuning weekend with Steve Kan. My target date is a week or two before Thanksgiving, 11/12 or 11/19. Of course this all depends on Steves schedule and dyno availability. I would like to limit the number of cars to 4 per day...at least with cars that want dyno time. The days would either be a Friday and Saturday or preferably a Saturday and Sunday if I can find a dyno shop willing to open its doors to us on a Sunday. If there is enough demand, perhaps all three days but I don't think this will be necessary.

Price would be $350 for Steve to tune the car and dyno time would be an additional cost or you can choose to do it on the street at your own risk. I have a good spot for doing this if need be.
Doing both street and dyno tuning would cost you two sessions with Steve.
Dyno time will hopefully only cost what you end up using. Anticipate $80-$120 an hour + possible hook up fees of $35 or so. I don't really care for the flat rate type method and will be looking to avoid it if possible.

Full deposits will be required through check or Paypal and are refundable if given adequate notice and/or legitimate reasons. Paypal will cost an additonal 3% due to their service charge. pm me for my e-mail addy for Paypal deposits.

Additionally, please supply a minor list of important mods. Have new plugs in the car, change your fuel filter (yeah, even you 3rd gen guys with sorry *** filter locations) and just try to have your **** together.

I have just found the dyno shop we will be using. I have tuned there before and was pleased with the shop and was very happy with the pricing and availability.
They charge $90 an hour and can be open until 7 pm if needed and on Sundays. A rarity up here in NorCal, believe me.
They have a new dynojet that they will let Steve operate just how he likes it. I am not going to disclose the location in the thread to keep the gawkers at a minimum. PM me for specific details about the dyno shop.

Nov isn't a good month for me....
https://www.rx7club.com/ne-rx-7-forum-30/steve-kan-dyno-tuning-session-nov-18-20th-470003/
I can only do one tuning trip a month. My partner is already mad at me for making so many trips this year.

He can do in a short time what takes others weeks or months to do or have to pay a shop twice as much.
For those of us who have blown up engines trying to tune ourselves or had a less experienced tuner blow our engines up, which I've experienced both, Steve is well worth the money and effort to have come out here.

Do a search on "Steve Kan Tuning" and have others tell you how they feel about his tuning capabilities.

I talked to Steve and he is booked until December.
The tuning will take place over a Saturday and Sunday either 12/10-12/11 OR 12/17-12/18.
Let me know what date works best for the majority of people and I will set it in stone with Steve and the dyno shop.

Kim307, Steve Kan is arguably the best rotary tuner in the coutnry. I have seen him pull 50+rwhp out of a car just from tuning. So if you have a good mod list and a stand alone EMS then the money you pay for his services is WELL WORTH IT. Just my .02

I'm in.
Steve tuned my car at SS8 couple of weeks ago, but because of boost issues I could not pass 13.5 psi. I like to tune in at 15. hopefully I don't have to pay for a FULL tunning session price again.

I am hoping the group on the East Coast cannot get their **** together and have to cancel their event thereby giving us the green light for November 19th and 20th. Otherwise the dates will be 12/17 and 12/18. We should know on Monday, 10/24 whether they are going ahead with it or not.

I am accepting deposits immediately. $360.50 through paypal ($350 + $10.50 paypal service charge) or check/money order for $350. I will pm each of you that have expressed interest in this thread with deposit and specific dyno location info. Of course all of your deposits are refundable if necessary. Dyno rates are $90 and hour payable the day of tuning and the shop is located about 45 minutes north of San Francisco.
Im will update the thread with spots filled and who's in etc. as it happens.

Please state what day and time you prefer. First come, first serve. 4-5 cars per day (preferably four). Additionally, I will only guarantee the first 3 spots of each day will receive dyno time due to real world issues and having been to several of these, I know what is involved and problems do come up. The fourth car would get street tuning if we run out of dyno time. However, I do not see that happening as the dyno opens early and will remain open until 7 pm both days...but just in case, I am stating my disclaimer now. Odds are all four cars can get the dyno time they need. Please be sure to have your **** together to the best of your ability (and I'm telling myself that too as my car is an uncooperative bitch).

December it is.
Seems like most people here can only do it then.
I will notify Steve and the dyno shop to reserve a weekend for us on 12/17 and 12/18.

Bah, I'll just post the dyno location...or the link to the shop at least. I wasn't going to list it directly in the thread to keep the rubberneckers away, but I'm tired of responding to inquiries about where it is at.
It is in Santa Rosa, about 45 minutes north of San Francisco.
I've used them before and am familiar with the place. Good shop, good guys, and about the best hourly rate and days/hours available in the Bay Area.

Here is a list of confirmed spots in the order they will be tuned. Only those who have sent the full deposit will see their name on the list. Thanks for organizing this Dave...I want the #2 slot on Saturday but am currently going through a identity theft nightmare, so I have to re-arrange my paypal account to use my new accounts to send you the deposit.
