Anyone used the E8 yet?

I see it's about 1700 or so.

I wonder if some of the glitches and if the harness is improved over the e6x.

 

Wow, for a couple hundred dollars more, I'd get the E11...

Ok, first off, the E8 is a downgraded version of the E11, ITS NOT an upgraded E6X. Second, the E8 can be totaly accomodated to any application because you can program your own sensors ranges and do not need to purchase the haltech units. Also, the "no sensors" kit costs US$1350.00 with a flying lead harness. The E11 in contrast costs US$1775.00.

The new E8 is far more capable than the E6X, and on top of that, the E6X has been lowered in price and new patch looms for different applications are going to be released very soon.

So if anybody wants to buy E8's i will sell them for 1350.00 plus shipping to the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

How do you accurately adjust the senor curves? Is there build in settings for "mazda", GM, Ford sensors?

I personally like the idea of getting all new sensors and not haveing to configure the senors or useing old wiring from my previousy harness.

What can you do for a e6X kit and a Full sensor kit for the e8.

Actually, right now i can only get the coolant metric sensor, the air temp is still that 3/8 NPT styled. I hope to have the metric one for that soon.

the e6x does what i need but i like the sequential injection on the E8 and the E11.

Could you elaborate oh how to setup the E8 for OEM senors?

I plan on using the stock TPS from the FD. I might use the stock air/water to save some money and buy a 3 bar sensor.

If i can just find some connectors for side feed injectors i'd be set. Any one know of a place that sells the connectors?

Well, sequential injection in a rotary doesnt realy make that much sense, since you wire up the primaries together and then after a certain load/rpm point you add the secondaries, so in this case the E6X is just perfect.

The way the E11 and E8 use any sensors is by just inputing a voltage range in the configuration part and thats it. For example, at any given temperature, the temp sensors are telling the ECU a specific voltage from 0 to 5 volts.

And the program has the option to input both Ohms or Voltage, and has serveral presets available.

 

What the bottom line price for a E6X with flying lead and senors shipped?

The e8 sensor feature is nice but the price is still more than the e6x with sensors

I'll prolly stick with the e6x as that has what I need.

So is there a harness for an FD ? I know I'll get flack for asking, since most stock harnesses are fried, but somehow mine is in 7 out of 10 condition, and I'd rather be able to return everything back to stock should I be "forced" to...

I'm also interested in hearing from E8 owners, and tuners on how "satisfied" you are... especially people running high HP (350+ applications).

I need to be able to use FJO wideband 0-5v system. Have 3 Bar Map. Anything else like boost controll via GM sensor, and Ignition Knock retard would also be very desireable...

Right now there is only a patch loom for the E6X to map to the FD RX-7, but im not sure yet if the US office has them. There are, i assume, plans for patch looms or the E8/E11 for these cars.

I will try to keep you informed.

As for E8 trials, im waiting on some orders i hope to put in so i can get an E8 for my self and give it a go.

 

From some of the previous posts it seemed like the E8 was a poor-er choice over the E6x due to the absence of features... was this a mistake or still valid ??

 

The E8 has more choices since it's a down graded E11

E11 ---> High lvl
E8 ----> Mid grade
E6X ---> Low lvl

You just need to pick the unit that is best compromise on what you need/want with respect to price.

One reason I didn't want a E8 is becuase I had to use my old wiring harness for the sensors and for about the same price I could get all new ones with my E6X.

The E8 has its own flying lead harness, the fact that you use the factory sensors doesnt mean you will use any kind of factory harness at the most you use the connectors with 3 or 4 inches of wire. In any case, the Stock Water Temp sensor can use a bosch styled injector connector.

I would use the haltech air temp though. And DC, to answer your question, the E8 is FAR BETTER than the X, like Sess mentioned, its an E11 with a few less outputs and inputs.

 

I was refering to the 4 inches that you have to keep.

the harness is usually worse right at the connector or the connector itself is broken.

on that note.
