T-66 Turbo Question

What would it take for my FC to push enough air to spool a T-66? When I have it rebuilt, i'm getting a streetport, and I'll have enough fuel to support it. So what do I need?

T66 is no problem, go to the single turbo forum, and search. assuming you are starting from scratch(stock) a T66 properly supported is a 5-10K job depending on how reliable you want it to be.

Our motors spool T66's no problem. However, you have to ask 'when will it make full boost?'

How soon a T66 spools is also dependant on the turbo manifold design, turbine wheel, turbine housing A/R, exhaust backpressure, tuning, etc.

It requires a stand-alone EMS.

How large of a turbo could I go up to without having to change over to a stand-alone?

a hybrid is iffy on the stock ecu, so id image a standalone is required for pretty much any aftermarket turbo, unless you are determined to completly ghetto rig it and want to blow the engine in short order.

E manage goes FAR beyond those, look up the features on the greddy site. You will need a good knock sensor though.

What about the Power FC? Is that a stand alone? And would it work well for the application?

PFC is a standalone. Basically just pnp into your stock harness. If you have an FD

You can get them from Japan for S5 TII's apparently.

GReddy E-manage is the simplest solution. But for a sexy turbo like the T66, I'd get a 'real' EMS: Haltech, Wolf etc.

How hard is it to have a Stand-alone tuned? I really want to have my car set up nice. I'm wanting to get a bigger turbo definitly...i've got 720s for the primaries, and I believe I'm going to get 1600cc secondaries...I've got the SAFC2 to tune it right and everything for now. But since I'm gonna have to get a stand-alone...I guess I need to start saving up for that first, then the turbo and stuff like that...hmm...

--EDIT--
I notice RX7store.net has the AEM system, and the two Microtech computers (LT12S and LT8S). Which of these systems would be better? Or what are the strong points of each system? I'm looking for no more than 350-400 horsepower out of my car. Or would I be better off having my S5 turbo (bought from a member of the board) sent to BNR and having a stage 3 or stage 4 upgrade? And on those upgrades, would I have to have a stand-alone still, or would I be able to just have the piggyback fuel computer? And will the stage 3/4 upgrades bolt up to the stock S5 manifold?

Thanks for all the input guys. Y'all are helping me out tremendously.

microtech. or haltech will suit your needs perfect. and your gonna need alot more than just a turbo to do this mod i.e. a lot of cash

just so that you know what im talking about, your gonna need a fuel pump or two (depending) A larger fuel press reg. the ems system. a better cooling system. a large fmic. Better clutch. New lsd (stock wont work very long with bigger power) exhaust modifications. The turbo. manifold, wastegate. bov. and depending on how or who tunes.. a new motor/rebuild before to long. s4 motors just dont stand up verywell

Are you talking for the T66, or the Stage 4 BNR.

I'm really looking at the Stage 4 instead now. I've got a walbro pump, 720 primaries, an SAFCII, and a Greddy Profec B-Spec II waiting to be installed when I have the car rebuilt. I just need secondaries now. Do you think 1600cc secondaries would be too much if i ran 15 psi through all gears?

The biggest reason I'm looking at those bigger injectors is because of when I do upgrade the turbo, I don't want to have to go back and buy new injectors.
