That's a nice porthole ya got there Usin it to monitor rear brake temps during hard braking Heh, sorry, had to! Anyway, looks good, make sure to undercoat the hell out of it so you don't ever have to do THAT again

Now if only I can save up enough money to get the rear quarter pannel fixed and the car painted, I'd be all set.

Welp, lookin good, keep huntin that rust!

edit: well, since I took so long to post, I didn't see the other 2 pics come up! heh, guess I didn't have to suggest the undercoating

I had to do this to both sides of the car and let me tell you....PITA but worth it.

I used a angle grinder with a thin cut off wheel on it to cut out the wells and welded in the panels with some sheet metal and angle iron (for added strength). It took me about 3 days solid to do (always seems to take twice as long as I think it's going to.) That black stuff you see is rubberized undercoating, worked great! I only used 2 cans and looks like it will hold up good.

If you have any questions fire away!

It looks like you cute the rear stuctural supports. I asked my friend to cut the hole thing out and he told me that it would weaken the mouning brakets on the rear of the car and he said I should not do it. Just curious.

Everything that I cut out had rust in it or on it. I think I may have added some strength if anything with the angle iron welded in place. I didn't cut any of the shock mount just the thin sheetmetal in the well. I don't know how I could have weekened it any by doing what I did. There is a piece of sheet metal spotwelded to the upper wheel well on the outside that I took ~2" out of but that was all rusty anyways.
