Radiator...is there a difference?

I just got a Koyo radiator...i was wondering if there is a difference between radiators for automatic and manual.

The automatic radiator also houses a transmission cooling line thru the base of the radiator. Fitment should be the same.. There was a thread arguing the trans coolant being run thru the rad and whether it helped or not. I'm sure you could run a regular rad... But you would have to put in another trans cooler, or bypass the rad somehow. I'll find the thread...

hmm...thanks jd...well...i checked the radiator i have and it has a fitting for another hose it looks like...other than the main one...could this be for the auto?

I'm not sure, but it sounds right. I don't remember my manual rad having anything on it resembling that... Take out your underbelly pan, and try to see if there's a resemblance.

Oh, and make sure the fitting is on the end... Not the drainplug.

If the fitting for the other hose that you're talking about is at the base and it's for a very small line, then it's the fitting for the line to the bottom of the AST. Koyo does not make an auto tranny radiator, but the one you have is easy to use. Follow my advice in the thread that was linked above for installing the Koyo in your auto (I'm guessing it's an auto, you've never actually said that you have an auto ).

yes i do have an auto =D so i'm going to try using the extra cooler, and use that Koyo radiator i got.
