How do you port the Wastegate

how do you port the wastegate,,does anyone have any illistrations of this or just pictures of one that is finished,,,don't think i am stupid or anything,,i have been tuning N/A cars for a couple years but htis is my first turbo car

there was another thread like this a few days ago...i think some aussie dude said he was gonna post some pics...not sure...Kr2d used to have some pics on their site...although not anymore i believe...

but to actually port it i believe you need a grinder or mill and a die. you need to hollow out the hole below the flapper valve that is the wastegate...they used to have before/after pics to show how far to drill it out...but i forget the measurements...good luck man, i'm sure someone will post some pics

wow there is quite a differene between the 4+5

i have already done mine by now i made the hole as big as i could get it without worrying about leaking boost past the flapper,,and i did cut it smooth on the inside edge to increase flow,,,i also polished the plate that directs it into the exhaust flow,,i ground off the numbers and polished the inside,,i don't know if it will help but i don't see what it would hurt either

the previous owner of my T2 said he ported it when he took the turbo off to rebuild it...i guess thats the only explanation i don't hit fuel cut with intake/downpipe/midpipe/no cats/catback
