You could install a fuel pump switch. The wire that you want to switch is the middle wire that is black with a white stripe on the 6 pin connector near the bottom of the stearing column. It has a yellow base. The connector has only 5 wires going to it. One of the rows of wires has three wires, the middle wire is the one to tap into and put a switch on. It is the +12v fuel pump wire.

There are several different causes of this problem. The two most common fixes are the fuel pump switch (mentioned in the above post and what I use) and having the injectors cleaned (it's likely they are leaking causing your hot flood problem). Cleaning the injectors did not work on my car but it has worked for MANY others. There is a test for leaking injectors if you can get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge. Let me know and i'll describe the procedure if you want to do this. It could also be low compression (bad news). If I were you i'd install the fuel pump switch and then go from there. Good Luck!

its not low compression

we checked the compression when i bought it my dads a mechanic but he works on trucks and its the first time hes ever seen a rotory engine so but he did check the compression the i talked to some guy over at mazda of orange park (*********) and they said unhook the computer or somethin but someone told me about the fuel pump thing so i think ill try that if not its j-spec engine time.thanks for your help and see ya at the tracks.

if your gonna street race ya might wanna pull the fast and furious type thing and have a guy with a scanner sittin close by our races got shut down a couple of weeks ago and that runnin of the bulls type **** is fun but kinda scary i think ill stick with hitttin um at the track for a while

yeah, I run the fuel cutoff switch in my 7. I tend to use it when I shut down the engine. Wiring it was easy. All you need to do is locate the relay on the right side of your steering column, under the dash..Its yellow in color. From what the guys here told me, I spliced a switch into the black and white wire. It took about 1 hour to do.. If you need pics of the install, wiring etc...I can get some for you.
