Installing Gauges

I want to install an A/F guage in my car. Is there any special sensor or anything that I need to hook it up?

You can run a single wire one right off the 02 sensor. Not exactly the best reading, but it should give you a good idea what your car is doing.

Run all 3 wires from the A/F Ratio Gauge directly from your ECU using 3 way connectors. I wish I could find a pic to Illustrate...

Running them to the ECU itself, will that yield a more accurate or stable reading? The ECU is just getting input form the 02, does it translate or average it?

Yes, IMO. You will bypass the shielded wire leading to the O2 Sensor. At the ECU, It doesn't have this.

Power came from the very top left wire for my A/F Ratio Gauge as did my S-AFC.

I opted to tap Into the ECU for 3 reasons.

1. I didn't want to disturb the copper sheilded wiring found at the direct end of the wire leading to the O2 Sensor.

2. I wanted to stay away from the heat emitted from my engine.

3. I wanted a neat Installation that allowed me to use 3 way connnectors.

do you have to get power and ground it to the wires at the ecu?
cant you use power from something else? say... the fuel pump? and ground it to a bolt on the chassis?
I dont get the difference...
Thanks
