Leather Sport model is nearing completion
well, the LS model is nearing completion. i started building it three days ago. the kit is made by monogram. i am trying to build it as identical as i can build to my 1980 Leather Sport as possible. i had to custom mix the paint to get it as close as i could. i need to get my browns for the interior and paint that and the dash. once i do that i can put the body on the completed interior and then finish my engine bay wiring. i'll get better hi res pics when i'm finished. my wife left my camera at her sisters house and all i have is my phone. here are the pics thus far:

thanks for the compliments!!! the kit is still available as a re-pop. its a remake of the original kit that was produced in 79. the kit lookes like this(which will be the red car):

i really do try and take my time and get into good detail with the models that i build. i guess it helps develop my patience, lol.

That's a real nice SA, I can see where you got the idea for the model details, but I was kind of curious about the finished model, it is looking like it could be really neat with all that detail.
Incidentally, if you want to get rid of that fading on the upper edge of your black side molding you can wash it using a green scrub pad to get rid of any surface dirt, let it dry thoroughly and then use a cloth to apply a thin layer of vasoline - they will look like new.

i cant find an oem muffler for it and i refuse to buy cheap aftermarket crap that will rot through in six months. i feel a rb muffler will be the best alternative at this point.
No it's actually an SA RB muffler i got when I got my SA. I'm actually putting your RB muffler on my SA instead. Not a fan of the angled tips LOL
