Dannie-boy, I think I'm pretty set on Intransigent. I love everything about that name. Perfect shop name, perfect product line name, perfect philosophy...just perfect.

True, but it's also a great way to really make a name for yourself. The same argument can be made for many of the Japanese shop names, but ppl quickly learn how to spell them - provided they're worth remembering

And on the real, c'mon now...just how hard is it to spell Intransigent? It's spelled like you say it. No silent letters, no "i" before "e" to mix up, etc lol. If anything, it sounds like the name will help filter out ppl who aren't very good with letters...

to use you'll still have our business.

I feel which ever name you choose, you HAVE TO give them a license plate holder of your new business name!

I dunno guys, I think you're thinking too hard on this. Intransigent? I'm a pretty educated person, and I had to look up the definition. Initially, I thought it was the politically-correct term they use for homeless people or migrant workers.

Intransigent doesn't exactly roll off the tongue either. What about something like:

Obscure Racing/Motorsports/Autoworks
Resolute Racing
Coast to Coast Racing/Motorsports/Autoworks
Speed Theory
Apex Racing/Motorsports/Autoworks Apex seals/Apex of the turn type idea.
Twisted Tuning/Racing/etc.
Racing Rarities
Imported Speed/Soul/Design
You always seem to be doing 20 bagillion things so Whirlwind Racing/Motorsports/etc.

well i know from personal experience that coming up with a name for something like a shop is seriously time consuming and can get to the point where almost anything crappy will sound good. Just try and think about what the shop will be selling and what you are basically going to be doing 90% of the time and then work your way from there ..... then you can think about a shorter version for the products or abbreviate it in some for or fashion.

so try brainstorming that with all the ideas you have so far .. and if that doesn't really help then i guess i suck at giving advice! lol

good luck though .

Peter, you're thinking of "transient," not "intransigent" lol. And I personally like the fact that ppl don't know what it means. I think every coin has two sides, and I'm pretty sure I can play the interest/curiosity side of that one.

Nathan, I actually had already suggested Resolute and Speed Theory.

i like
Transient motorsports.
cause, a transient isnt someone who stays in more than one place for very long, but in your case, you dont just adhere to ONE genre, or even country.
and hell, i just like the word "motorsports" its flashy.

peace

Transient sounds ok, but it strikes me as if you are going to scam people, LOL. Like, one day the shop is there, the other day its gone...transient. Now, intrasigent, that sounds good from the meaning of it, like "I dont give a **** I want to go fast Motorsports"..LOL

How about
NEVAEH MOTORSPORTS
Its heaven spelled backwards obviously kind of adds in that whole ethereal aspect of what your doing. Then again not to keep on the religous side of things but how about
Alpha & Omega Racing
and your slogan could be
"Leading the Pack, Beginning to End"
