Please read the thread. We already have a separate thread for the non-illuminated ones: https://www.rx7club.com/fdnewbie-imports-172/gb-non-illuminated-rx8-5-speed-shift-knobs-686300/

So I can understand if he wants to bow out. Everyone else, what are your excuses?

Sadly, this sorta stuff is why some GB's start off with deposits just to be added to the list. Lets not make Ramy have to do that.

You're telling me? Right now I look like a TOTAL FLAKE in front of Knightsports for asking about 10 headlights...and I got how many?? ZERO. It's frustrating, b/c ppl don't understand that there's nothing suppliers hate more than flakes. NOTHING. So when ppl say they're serious about something, and I ask all these questions, negotiate (and sometimes FIGHT) for a good price, then ppl flake for me, guess what? With no cash goin in their direction, that supplier will make sure not to waste his time on me again in the future. There are repercussions to EVERYTHING.

So yea, I've seriously considered the whole deposit-up-front deal, but I'd much rather keep things nice and friendly, ya know?

I'd imagine it won't take too long to pick up at least 2 more orders.

True, but I thought we'd have 20+ people by now.

Come on guys, I don't want to have to order 2 more myself.

That's 9. I bet we can get one more atleast by the end of the weekend. I think we are set.

If not, we all pitch in 22 bucks to get the 10th one, then we sell it in the for sale section at a quick sale price and try and recoup a couple bucks.

Atleast very few of us will actually have this item. Should make my car with about 2k more.

Please watch your language ;)

Count me in for an illuminated 5 speed black.

I hope a Miata short shifter has the same thread pitch.

Payment sent. You all owe me.

^Miata shifter has the same thread pitch as S5 FC & S6 FD(dunno about s7 & s8 but I assume it is the same as well) & Rx8 so it is a direct fit for you.

Thanks!

I was looking into it back when the prices were unknown...

Unfortunately, you can't get a price without a number of confirmed buyers and you can't get confirmed buyers without a price... Or at least I can't afford to put a deposit down on something that has an unknown price.

Catch-22

It sucks. Thanks for dealing with crap like this. I know not too many people have the patience to do so.

I was lurking in this thread prior to that post about the final pricing...

All the while I was thinking, "Will it fit? Do I really want it? How much would I really be willing to pay for a purely aesthetic mod?"

If deposits were requested then, I probably wouldn't have put one down as I'd be out my deposit if the price was above what I was willing to pay...

Honestly, it is slightly more than what I was looking to pay. But Ramy is a good guy, I've met him in person. I trust him and since this is probably a modification that most people are unlikely to have I'm willing to pay more even though it's just a shift ****.
