As Ramy mentioned we will have signature confirmation. I can also ship via a different carrier if you like (subject to surcharge if it's more expensive). Same goes for you chaknchngo, if you still want UPS please let me know and I'll do what I can.

Just wanted to let you guys know that from my initial look at the expense report for this GB the regular kit buyers should be receiving a small return of their shipping deposit (~$20) and the HID kit buyers none. The HID kits actually exceeded the budgeted amount. The refunds will be issued after the items are dropped off for shipping and I have time to run the calcs (Tuesday at the latest).

Still waiting to hear from the two individuals that expressed interest in alternate shipping methods. I'll wait as long as possible, but if I don't hear back in time your orders will go out FedEx same as everyone elses.

In what way did the lights exceed the budget ammount?

Because I know it doesn't cost $71.00 USD to ship a set of these lights ground.

It seems to me like you under quoted the prices, thats not our fault.

$751.00 USD (PAYPAL PRICE)

+

$71.00 USD (SHIPPING)

= $822.30 USD

This Group Buy is a disaster, we as customers waited 6 Months to end up actually PAYING MORE than your RETAIL PRICE

explain to me what is happening, because I'm pissed.

I would have just bought the damn kit half a year ago, and actually payed less if I knew this was going to happen.

I'm doing this publicly, because all the info affects everyone in this GB Negatively

The lights didn't exceed the budgeted amount; shipping was very expensive, that's all. Shipping the HID kits was well more than we anticipated.

Because I know it doesn't cost $71.00 USD to ship a set of these lights ground.
Of course not. But you can be it costs very close to that to ship them from Japan to the US, let alone from the US to you via Ground.

It seems to me like you under quoted the prices, thats not our fault.
Nope, we didn't underquote pricing on any parts. Our quoting and pricing was accurate. As ALWAYS, we collect the cost of parts up front and deal w/ shipping costs later, because we only charge you for EXACTLY how much it costs us to ship. In this case, I knew shipping would be a lot (the light kits are very large/heavy, and thus are expensive to ship from Japan to the US). So we had you guys pay a portion of the shipping costs up front. The balance was refunded as appropriate.

Thanks,
~Ramy

your website states 775.00 USD Shipped, I can understand an additional paypal fee, but this is crap.

and I'm sure there is not much of a difference between shipping cost of regular and HID kits.

1) The website pricing is outdated, and I haven't updated it in a WHILE. In case you haven't noticed, the exchange rate is COMPLETELY different than when I listed those prices originally. And because of that, on the new website, I will be listing prices in YEN, with a CURRENT corresponding cost in dollars, that will CHANGE & FLUCTUATE with the currency rate. So pricing will differ by day.

2) The KS kits are made to order, and the lead time on the kits is VERY long. Feel free to search for Chuck's (RotaryExtreme) past posts about the lead time (6 months). I got them done within ONE month of sending the money. Give credit where it's due.

3) The old pricing did NOT include 3 - 5 day express shipping; it was shipping via a much slower & cheaper method (container shipping). Again, I have NO problem doing that, if ppl want to wait another 1 - 2 months and I don't hear a PEEP out of them for how long it takes for the parts to arrive.

I understand you're not feeling too happy, but please take a moment to look deeper into the situation rather than lash out on the thread.

Thanks,
~Ramy

Honestly, I'm not too interested in opinions. I'm telling you what the situation is. I don't lie, so plz don't disrespect me or my word like that; I take both VERY seriously.

honestly, the website is not my problem, nor is the falling dollar.

if you want to accurately represent your company, then update your page.

when one enters business, there are risks that you assume. (especially dealing with rare and made to order parts)

Not the customer.

No one said the website's your problem. But have you noticed you can't purchase directly off of the website? Because it hasn't been updated; you have to contact me directly and I'll provide you w/ an updated cost as applicable, while the new website is being completed.

I can also cite you that "pricing subject to change without notice" schpeel that's practically the golden disclaimer on virtually every shop's website. So you should keep that in mind.

And it's quite obvious I'm taking steps to accurately represent my company by creating a much better webpage; the current webpage is there more for representative purposes than anything at this point.

And of course there are risks. But that has nothing to do with this. This was a clear cut situation. Everyone was quoted a price for the parts up front; that price didn't change. The shipping quote was pending, because we don't find out how much it costs to ship until AFTER the parts are ready to ship. Why? Because we only charge you EXACTLY what it costs us to ship. And we quote you BASED on that cost. Period. Had a promised a set shipped price, I would have stuck by it as best as I could. But I didn't as I had no way to guesstimate what it would be. Once we got the cost we adjusted the shipping deposits accordingly. Why do you think we required a $100 shipping deposit in the first place? Did you think for some reason that shipping was only going to be $25, and we were asking for another $75 just for fun? I think you need to ask yourself a few more times why we asked for such a shipping deposit...because I think it's painfully obvious that we anticipated high shipping costs

If thatis golden rule, and practically everyone goes buy it, then why do you not mention that on your site?

that is not a schpeel, it is a disclaimer. the reason for that is to inform a customer of the unstable price of goods or services

you should not assume, because you know what happens when you assume... You get pissed off customers, that usually go somewhere else.

I'm not asking you to assume anything; I'm asking you to be logical. If we asked for a $100 deposit for shipping, it simply wouldn't be logical to think you're getting most of it back, and we're simply asking for such a high deposit for fun.

And as I said before, I'm sorry to hear you're not happy; we most certainly value each and every one of our customers, and hope that you'd give us the opportunity to please you in the future

In the future, are you kidding me!?

what about the problem at hand?

None of this "let me make it up to you in the future" stuff...

I'm trying to be as open minded as possible. Maybe we need to come to a conclusion about what is at hand right now at this moment. That would be a good business decision on your part.

Check your PayPal transaction. You paid $725 (cost plus $100 deposit) - 29 (deposit refund) = $696. That is definitely less than the website price which does need to be adjusted.

Regardless, we specifically stated the terms of the transaction.

Well WE only receive $725 of it

I am sorry, please feel free to leave negitive feedback on my thread discussing my overreaction.
Na man, we ain't goin out like that. Simple misunderstanding

Thank you for clearing this up...
My pleasure. As far as I'm concerned, all's well that ends well

~Ramy

PS: Plz keep in mind that the $775 listed on the website; ppl who ordered via that price would have had to cover the Paypal surcharge you covered too, so their price woulda actually been around $800 FYI

That's still a possibility. Basically I have a garage full of parts that I bought but never put on (the KS light kit being one). I was deciding whether I would sell the parts individually or put them on and maybe sell the entire car. I always wanted to see the KS light kit in person so I just had to go ahead and install it.
