My kit comes with two sets of washers i noticed.
how many of the big and how many of the small washers should i have in the kit.

In the kit i noticed i have 4 of the large and 3 of the small is this correct??? 3 of the small is a odd number??????

also please correct me if i'm wrong but according to the MOCAL thermostat instruction the flow of the oil in/out of from the engine it seems that you guy have it mounted incorrectly in this picture.
Oil from the Rotary engine flows from the front cover and returned to the oil pedestal, however the MOCAL unit shows(according to the picture) that the flow is from the pedestal to the front cover.
As per MOCAL's unit that is!!!

3 of the small washers is correct. You use 1 washer on the oil pedestal behind the adapter, and 2 more for the banjo on the front cover. The 4 larger washers are used for the banjos on the oil coolers.

You should mount the oil thermostat per the mocal instructions, that picture was taken a long time ago to demonstrate how the thermo should sit on the mount. You are correct our picture shows it mounted wrong. I have to correct that.

I'm gonna PM you my phone number with any further questions until we get our instructions finalized.

thanks guys for confirming!!! BTW if you are considering purchasing this kit, do so!!! regardless of the minor set backs from their vendors on parts this is a very well put together kit.

I have seen few other kits which are available for our FD and nothing beats the price for a straight forward no nonsense kit.

Best of luck

Would the 99+ track kit work on 94 bumper?

I want to switch to a 99 bumper sometime in the future, but not just yet.

Yes, the 99 kit will fit on a 93 bumper. The 99 brackets are adjustable, which allows them to fit with nearly any bumper. The downside is they cost more as the brackets are multipiece and require expensive banjo bolts. But long story short, they fit.
-Heath

BTW everyone, Dan and I are still working on the instructions. We are getting close. I'm aiming for them to be done tonight... cause it's already dragged on longer than I wanted. Keep an eye out..

Question Looking to purchase oil coolers

I own an FD 93 with a 20B engine and stock front bumper. I want to purchse your dual 25 row kit as it seems the best fit for almost 500 WHP at 13PSI. But the engine sits very close to the rad (no sub frame used. stting on original mounts 3 inc closer to firewall) Koyo rad and greddy intercooler. the intercooler is mounted on the nose followed by the condesnser and finally the rad with the two fans as per your picture. the rad is sitting at about a 30 degree angle. I also have A/C.

1-will your kit work? do I need special fittings? are the hoses too short or too long?
2-can you include in the kit a bracket and sensor and display unit to measure the oil temp (or should it go somewhere else)? Presently I only have EGT and coolant temp.
3-It is very hot in my engine bay, would it be better if I get SS lines? and if so are they flexible? can they resist more PSI? (or do they just look better)?
4-I'm going to be runnig Brad Penns oil as well as Edmunds coolant, to your experince would all this (with your kit) be a solid cooling system for track?
5-does it come with an instruction manual?
6- can you ship to montreal Canada?
7- what is your expected ship date ?

I know it is a lot of questions, but I have all the intensions of purchasing your kit!!!

I'm also aware that it is possible that I might have to wait unti the new GB list is filled :-)

By the way good work on the R&D guys!! You are the kind of people that make the spirit of car enthusiats be fun!!

Hey Andrew,
Hopefully I can answer all of your questions. First of all let me ask about your 20b install (I have one as well). When you mounted your motor, did you move the transmission at all? (I'm using the Pettit subframe which keeps the transmission in the same spot... if so, then I should be able to take measurements for lines from my car, so the lines will fit yours. If yours is mouted differently then I'll have to have you measure for two of the line lengths.) Also, are you using the stock 20b motor mounts? The reason that I ask is that I suspect we will have to mount the thermostat in a different location from stock (I have to do the same with my 20b) as the stock mouning location will hit your radiator/fans etc. We can make you a coustom bracket to mount the thermostat, and a coutom line to reach the front cover. Also I need to know which front cover you are using on the motor... 20b or FD. When you get a chance, please take some pictures of your -> Driver side motor mount, Clearance between the motor and radiator, front cover, and oil pedestal. You can email me off forum @ sakebombgarage@gmail.com and we can work out a solution for you . I'm in the same boat!

Now to answer your questions:

1. The kit will work, but you will need special fittings, coustom line lengths, and a coustom thermostat mount. I can help you with those. Other than that, yes the kit will fit!!

2. We don't personally make a bracket/sensor setup to measure oil pressure, however I will show you the unit I have installed on my 20b that will let you hook up a gauge. Personally, I will be monitoring oil temp and oil pressure (for oil pressure I'm just using the stock gauge, but you could use an aftermarket gauge as well... its up to you, but I'll show you how I did it. There are a few options)

3. As far as lines, It's totally up to you. Really what it comes down to is personal preference, but on my car I'm using the braided nylon lines. All of our lines will easily withstand the tempratures and line pressure of the oiling system. The stainless steel lines are not as flexible as the nylon braided lines.

4. From our experience this should work fine with a 20b as far as dissapating the additional heat, however, if you are using the 93 bumper, the stock sized oil cooler openings are on the small side (as compared to aftermarket or 99 bumper openings). You are also using a FMIC which is also blocking airflow to your radiator and bay. I would think the 25 row would be enough, but there is no way to know till you are actually on the track with them, and monitoring temps over a long track session. If you start noticing the temps creeping up, and are still set on using the 93 bumper, we can look at upgrading you to an even larger oil cooler (We'd have to work out a coustom mounting solution for anything larger than 25 row). That being said, the 25 row coolers are quite large and extremely efficient, so lets not get ahead of ourselves. They will most likely solve any cooling problems you might encounter.

5. Instruction manual. Yes it will come with an instruction manual. I've been promising everyone the finished instructions for some time now... and I feel bad that they still arent done. We have them NEARLY finished, but I'm in the process of taking more detailed pictures to make the install easier and more intuitive. As I've told many people this week, I'm working on, they are nearly done, and will be posted ASAP! My appologies to anyone still waiting on instructions...

6. Yes we can ship to Canada eh

7. We are currently filling/shipping all of our remaining backorders for kits (we had a holdup with a certain banjo fitting that has become nearly impossible to find). Any '99 kits orders will ship immidiately. We set up a waiting list for 93 kits and will do another run of 93 brackets very soon. If you want a 93 kit please add your name to the list. You have a unique situation however, so I will work with you to make sure you get the propper line lengths/fittings/thermostat mount. That being said, your kit will take longer to put together than others.

Please dont hesitate to ask any other questions you have. You can email me directly @ sakebombgarage@gmail.com and I can help you put all the pieces of the 20b puzzle together... im doing the same thing now myself.

Tim Benton and morris1510: Your kits are being packed to ship. Thank you both for being so patient with the holdup on the banjos!

Kru510: We'll get yours ordered up. As soon as they get here we'll figure out a place to meet up around here. It's looking like another 2 weeks (at least) on banjos again

Everyone: We're working on redesigning the thermo mount so we can kiss the banjo-sourcing problem goodbye for good.

We're currently out of the 93+ bracket sets but will be doing another production run on them (5 more sets total) So I'm officially opening another 5 spots. We're looking at 2-4 weeks turn around on them.

Any hope we'll be getting the instructions any time soon ?

I mean the whole idea was to test the kit's performance in the summer's high temps but I don't see that happening unfortunately!

Thumbs up INSTRUCTIONS! (sorry for the wait everyone)

The instructions are finally done! You can view them -> HERE

We will open up a discussion thread to post questions, comments, or for you guys to call me out on being an *** for taking so long with the instructions (sorry once again... ). I'll add a link to the discussion thread tonight.

Good luck with the installations everyone, and as always, you are welcome to email/PM us with any questions you may have during or before the install. Happy cooling!

Here is the discussion thread for the installation -> Discussion/Question Thread

I'd like to keep questions, reviews, questions on the installation itself in that thread, so this thread stays less cluttered. Also feel free to PM, email, etc.

Yes. The banjo fittings are basically no longer available unfortunately, but we have a new thermostat mount which relieves us of needing it. The new thermostat mounts are in production as we speak. Should be another couple weeks for the next batch to ship with the revised thermo mount.
