Rammy, nice find with these. I never even knew another company made these. These color options are much nicer than the Teins as well and I think everyone will agree with that.

NRG doesn't advertise the aftermarket hood dampers on their site. Do they typically have a price difference and will that be reflected in this GB? Or are they just the same price just not advertised?

*edit*
I'm in for these. I gotta decide on the color. Any idea when we can expect these?

They DO advertise them on their website. Check back in my post. I even underlined that part! Gosh, I'm going to start requiring a reading test in all my threads (Just kiddin man...no harsh feelings)

You're kidding me. Look at the post IMMEDIATELY before yours...

PS: Please don't take offense guys; I've just been very short of patience in the last few days as ppl in all the GB threads keep asking questions that I've taken a great deal of time to answer in the initial posts! lol. It really starts to get to ya after about the 27th time...

I checked their site. Maybe I missed it. There are 2 links for hood dampers on there. Under the pics for each they say:
"*Not Designed for Carbon or Fiber glass Hoods "

On the afore mentioned link it does state that they are "*Not Designed for Carbon or Fiber glass Hoods". I have a fiber glass MS Speed hood; does this mean I can't use it? Otherwise, I'm still in and would like Silver / chrome.

I also sent you an unrelated question via email.

Ok, and now for the really stupid question. Is CF=Carbon Fiber=Black? My RX7 is black and just trying to decide on best color option. Your thoughts?

This line at the bottom still concerns me:

I am also a little worried about the *not for fiberglass* as I have a fiberglass mazdaspeed hood. But I am willing to risk it with a set of chromes.
Thanks, James

I believe Rammy has actually spoken with someone at NRG who told him they do make dampers for aftermarket hoods. I don't think Rammy would tell us they do if he didn't know for sure. Since Rammy will be ordering directly thru NRG I don't think we have to worry about getting dampers that are for OEM hoods by mistake. It must be a special order thing only when you call and order directly from them, otherwise it would be on the site.

Rammy am I correct here? I have looked everywhere on the site but do not see any mention of dampers for aftermarket hoods.

Also, I just noticed it says the dampers are for 95-97 Rx7s.. WTF is up with that?

You're absolutely correct. Again, that's why I stated my note about other sellers. I'm dealing w/ NRG DIRECTLY, and they are supplying me with two DIFFERENT hood dampers, one for the OEM hoods, and one *specifically* made for aftermarket lighter hoods (namely fiberglass and carbon fiber).

I don't think Rammy would tell us they do if he didn't know for sure. Thanks for the confidence

They do list it. It's in the text that I posted on the previous page.

LOL don't worry about it. It's for the 3rd gen hoods

Thanks,
~Ramy

WOW, I'm an idiot. I don't know how I missed that text on the NRG site. I must completley miss chunks of what I read when I only have 2 hours of sleep and am reading websites at 4am...

*edit*
Oh yeah, I'm in for a chrome set.
