Basically take over his parts/project/design? That wouldn't be very nice of me, would it?

If he gave you the supplier information it would be assumed that you had his permission. . Besides, if he has no interest in continuing to make these why would he care?

FYI, I discussed this possibility with Ramy, because we know Chuck's parts are the best. It's not a viable option since Chuck sources the parts from various suppliers and assembles them in house. And to paraphrase Ramy, Chuck didn't leave the door open for us taking over that aspect. Sorry guys.

On the other hand if the Teins can get the job done...

I believe that the Teins will cause a slight bulge in the CF hood just like all the other hood dampers out there (Chuck's excluded of course.). Please go ahead and refund my payment.

Thanks - Neil

I'm still in. I trust that wherever we end up on this you won't sell us inferior products. I am interested in the new alternative you have found as well. . .

Dude, c'mon now. Would you expect any less of me? They offer two dampers, one for the OEM hood, and one for lighter aftermarket hoods

Jeff, thanks for the confidence man. In fact, you have no idea how accurate you are. I'm actually not going to run a GB on the Tein's no matter what. I did some researching WRT the concerns ppl raised in this thread about the Tein dampers, and I found out (to be politically correct) that the Tein dampers are not reflective of the quality the Tein name is normally associated with In fact, I had a nice long convo with a very good friend of mine who was actually sponsored by Tein and had these dampers, and essentially gave me the run down and told me they were junk haha. And like you said, the LAST thing I'd do is sell junk to make a buck. I stand behind EVERYTHING I sell, or I simply won't sell it.

Having said that, I think you guys will be very happy w/ the dampers I'm going to be going with (as I wipe off the black overspray from the green Teins LOL ). But seriously, it's a high quality product. I'll post once I confirm that I can actually get a GB rate on 'em (I'm waiting to hear back from 'em).

Thanks!
~Ramy

Ok guys, here's my suggestion: NRG Hood Dampers. Price: $140 Shipped.

Note: While there are online sites that claim to sell these dampers for cheaper, they also claim that these are made for OEM hoods only, and don't carry all the options the NRG ones do. So I want to make sure everyone's aware that these are GENUINE NRG hood dampers (known for their high quality), purchased DIRECTLY through NRG, available for both OEM and lighter aftermarket hoods, in silver or CF finishes. Please see below for further details.

Thanks!
