cuting weight
Pretty much, it won't take much for most of it. I've found the area around body seams will be tougher and some of the passenger side where the exhaust is will be difficult too.
I'm here in California and it probably only got down to mid 50's at night and I kept the car in the garage and I didn't start working on it till about noon that day and a hammer and chissel works just fine. It'll take it out in big strips. Dry Ice just makes it easier. You could just try it w/o the ice first then if that takes too long for you then go grab some for the rest. Its really not too hard at all you'll be surprised how easy it is.
It was 35 degress out to day. I went out side and started hiting it with a hammer and you were right the stuff just comes right off in chunks
. I will be taking the dash out this spring and I am painting every thing white If its only that much I will get it when I pull the dash off in the spring time.
i couldnt find dry ice in my area so i mixd up a gluey paste like liquid out of some paint stripper meth a turps and a bit of backing flour and fue other things lol brushed it on left it on over night went back the next day and wiped it away it was ******* horrible lol
It's too flimsy to have the stock hydraulics. You can hold it up with one finger. Most guys just set them up so you can remove it with dzus fasteners and put it out of the way.
Still make them, if fact one is MIA in shipping as we type. Greyhound has it somewhere between St Pete, Fl and Charlotte, NC.

Not really a street part at all. I've added hinges for guys drifting but never any latch stuff. There also isn't any thickness to it for the stock seal to work good. You can pull it down to the seal but then it looks a little low on the car.
A dzus fastener is a spring loaded, quarter turn "pin" to hold stuff on tight but makes it very easy to remove in seconds. Google it, there a bunch of styles, some need tools like a wide curved screwdriver, others have tabs like a wing nut.

As for the hatch, if you replace the hatch glass with lexan using the stock metal frame then you'll drop about 29#s. My frame weighed 18#, the lexan, rivets, straps, etc. weighed 11#s.
wow my car is getting really light I pulled the dash off this week and am starting to pull all the hvac **** out. its starting to sit higher and higher on the stock suspention I cant wait to see how it handles and accelerates when I build the moter for it this spring!

The dash has a lot of weight in it. Mine weighed 34# stock, and I got it down to about 10.
yea mine is starting to look like that I am geting some coilovers for it this spring after I get the new engine in it.Im going to go through every part of the car and and try and lose as much weight as posibule if I could get her down to 2000pounds or lower that would be perfact.
