VIN decoding for the 1985 Mazda 626 GC: JMZGC16ZZ01660166.
Decoding the VIN for such an old Mazda can be difficult because the databases for those years are not always complete. Judging by the JMZ code, it is a Japanese assembly, and the GC16 indicates a sedan body with an F-series engine.
Most databases for 80s cars are a mess. I had to use a vin decoder https://carfast.express/en/vin_decoder to verify the engine and trim specs for my old project car last year. It is probably the only way to check if the factory options are still original before you start buying any replacement parts. Hope the report actually gives you a hit for that specific chassis number.
