Need a new car......
Hey Guys,
As the title said... Need suggestions for a new car.... A family cruiser of some kind, something that I can fit a baby seat in the back off, preferably something 4 door, hatch or station would be nice, but not something booring...
Family......
Baby??????
WTF!!
Yeah I'm gonne be a dad!!!!! WHEEEEEEEH!!!!
Seriously though, I am in the market for something besides the hachi thats a more practical family car. After visiting Mireck I was thinking Cosmo but I don't think that fits the bill I'm not even sure if rotary would be a sensable choice in this. I'll be using the hachi as a daily driver and this car for the family trips, hauling stuff around (something I can't do with the hachi), and offcourse the wife needs to be able to use it from time to time.. A station (626 station?) would fit the bill but a smaller hatchback would be nicer for the wife (some nice GTI'ish, 206, AE92, etc) and with the rear seats down can still haul around alot of stuff..

Teh time has come for a full play car and a full family car. I recomend Somthing like a Honda Oddessy. Dosent have to be too new. But you will need somthing bigger. The plus side being you can remove the seats to fit a rotary rebuild in there. :-)
Cheap on gas. Cheap to fix.

A new rotorhead's on the way??? CONGRATS!!!
Car choice suddenly becomes a whole new thing now, doesn't it? Well, Cosmo might look nice, but it's really not handy. I have plenty of experience now, and two doors are NOT funny with kids and their seats!!!
Go for a 626: undestroyable, and still affordable. All those small(er) hatches (GTi etc) might be fun, but they are too small very soon. No car is ever big enough once you have kids!

hey Bart,
Yupz, another enthousiast in the making
Indeed, a minimum of 4 doors is required, 5 is preferable. 626 is high on my list, 440 is interesting, maybe a lancer, but there are others that have caught my eye, we will see..

Just don't get anything french! We got a Renault.... just dont!
The last version of the 626 is boring but good....
I looked alot at service costs and insurance.... some prices are just to much!

I can only agree with Magnus here! It'll be a very special time, so make sure you're there for eachother. And one tip: make sure you have as much "free" time as possible; once the kid is there it'll be freakin' busy
As for cars: 5th door is mandatory! I have a 4 door, and it's really not cool to stuff that car full of all those things I suddenly need to transport

There is a seat free in the Merceders team (STCC) for next year, all I need is some money to buy it!
Back to topic:
Why is a wagon more expencive on tax??

just a side note
FC is practical with small child - our club member's wife uses FC for driving around town with 5 month old baby and loves it - since car is slightly modified, ride is bumpy and makes baby sleep a lot faster than in 'regular' car
and yeah, they bought baby-coach which does fit in FC behind the rear seats
