FC turbo II, series 5 rebuild ?
FC turbo II, series 5 rebuild ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello wankelfreinds,
I am about to rebuild my 91, FC turboII series 5 engine, and have found out that the front iron is broken in the waterseal, so I have to get a new/used one, allso I need a new flywheel for this car ! my questions are 1. is the front iron specifik for the TurboII series 5 ? or can I use iron from the series 4 of maybe even NA FC ? I have been told that the flywheel can be used from an FD twinturbo, is this true ? and if, do I need speciel parts/other parts to have it fit or does it go right in ? maybe some of you actually have theese parts for sale ? thank's in advance guys ;o)

Hello Rene
You can swap over FD flywheel directly, its just lighter, everything is same and its balanced for S5TII/FD rotors which are same.....
As for the iron, you need to use S5 TII one, otherwise your lower intake manifold would not line up with the ports.
You can build your engine using S4 TII front/rear iron AND using S4 TII lower and upper intake manifold if you have extra S4 parts......
FD front iron has ports even more offset, so that would not work either.
S4 NA would not work either for simple swap, 2 intake ports instead of one.....
But with enought will, everything is possible

Hello hIGGI ;o)
Thank you very much for your reply ! ok, I will have to find a front iron for my FC turbo 2 serie 5 then, and yes, I got your offer on parts through Kim, but at first he said you had a front iron for sale 350 euro, but then he mailed me back and said you had not ? and you had a flywheel allso for 200 euro ? I just thought it would be wise to have boath parts from one place due to the shipping, but do you have boath parts ? and if, what would I have to pay you for all including shipping ;o)
Looking forward to hear from you.
