Wolf3D
A few people in the 1st gen forum have been talking about this one, so I thought I'd come here to see if any of you can tell me anything about the Wolf3D ECU.
Thanx,

Thanks, but I guess I should have mentioned I already went to thier sites. I'm more interested in anyone with firsthand experience.
Thanks for the thought tho!

Well, I'm in no rush here, so I can wait for the new version
I've only recently gotten my new GSL-SE so the ECU will probably be going in sometime during the winter.

Great!
Yes I've downloaded it, but I've only just started going through it.
So... to start, how happy are you with it?
What do you like/not like about it?
I've heard some rumours that it's a PITA to install. What was your experience?
How easy is it to program? It looks fairly straight forward, and I've downloaded the software and dinked around with ti a bit.
What's your opinion of the remote control unit?
Lastly, I read it has a security featre that can disable your engine. Have you used it at all? And if so, what do you think of it?
Thanks!

If I were you I would wait for the new version. It's supposed to have some nice features. So far it's been working well. My car starts right up in the morning, and I don't have any hot starting problems. My friend--he has a 2001 Corvette--was VERY impressed by my car today.
I'm running 4 1600 cc injectors with a Greddy T-78 turbo. The only real pain is controlling the big primaries at light throttle. You should go through the whole manual. It's HIGHLY recommended reading if you're going to get a Wolf 3D.
The installation is very easy. The Wolf 3D comes with its own harness. I had alot of help from waynespeed. He came to my house to help with the TEC II, but it turned out that the TEC II was bad. So he helped install the Wolf--he and his friend did most of the work. The hardest part is the crank angle sensor modification.
The memory cartridges are great. They make switching maps very easy. Tuning is very user friendly with the keypad. The keypad is really cool. The security feature is also good. I use it all the time. Try sending a PM to waynespeed. He can probably get you a good deal on the Wolf.

Jim,
Thanks for all the info!
I'm gonna read the whole manual, but my printer is down right now so I'm reading the manual off my screen. It makes for slow going.
I'll also make sure to pm waynespeed in a bit.
One last question:
How much did you pay for it?
Thanks again,
-Spencer

I think that a new Wolf 3D goes for about $1200.

Thanks again Jim!
I managed to get my printer working and got through the whole manual last night/this morning, and I think I'm in love. It's an amazing system!
Now all I gotta do is save up while for the new model.

Wayne, how did you get the Wolf before it is released? Does your brother work for one of the Wolf retailers?
What state are you in?
Please keep us informed of how it goes.

Hey 13Bace- How do you have your secondaries ran? Do they spray the whole time or are they controlled by a relay to con on when your under boost? I did this and it really smoothes out the low rpm driving with 1600cc's. Makes tuning alot easier, also. email me jbontke1@home.com
