I'm sorry if this seems rediculously basic, but I'm replacing the stock ECU in my '88 convertible and I can't find where it is located in the car. My Haynes manual shows it in the driver's footwell next to the fusebox but I don't see it. Any clues would be highly appreciated.

 

It's under the PASSENGER footwell.&nbsp You need to remove the passenge side kickpanel and the door sill trim to remove the carpet.&nbsp Under the carpet is a silver metal panel - you'll need to remove this - two 10mm nuts on top and two 10mm bolts on the bottom.&nbsp The ECU is under there...

I looked through my Factory Service Manual and I swear to god under "ECU Removal" it said "Ask Ted..." Go figure!
