im using a powerfc on my car with no problems, beats having alot of gauges when i have 8 of them in the palm of my hand. I was told from a reliable source that the powerFC isnt good for 500hp + cars but i havent had any problems yet.

On the other hand i believe the microtech was made specificly for the rx7. But theres so many out there. The main idea you need to check around is who can tune what.

On my powerfc theres not alot that can tune that computer so check with you tunner to see if he can tune the haltech

Boo Microtech... Hooray Wolf 3D ver. 4.0 or Haltech E8!!!!

Honestly though, the newest version Wolf is probably the all around best ECU that I have seen in YEARS!! It's priced just under the Haltech E8 yet it has all the features of the E11v2!!!! However, Haltech is still a great EMS and will suit your needs just fine. I just don't like Microtech due to the fact that they just seem "twichy." They aren't consistant in my experience.

I agree 100% with every thing he said. Wolf 3d vrs 4 is BANG for the buck, and it was engineered for rotary (although it will run virtually any internal combustion engine) by rotary guys.

Plus Wolf USA is about 10 miles from my house and I have spent more time there then I can remember. The owner, Chris Greene, knows his **** and has kick *** customer service. I really can't say enough good things about Wolf these days. I will soon have one in my FC and my wife's FD.

First thing to decide is who will tune and support it. If you will be taking the task in hand then choose what feels right. There really isn't much of a wrong choice. If you want to have it installed or tuned by a shop locally then find out what they deal with and what they know.

I've worked with Microtech now and honestly prefer the E8 over the LT8. The E8 has more resolution, user defined mapping points, more inputs and outputs, closed loop boost control, a/f ratio logging, etc. The Microtech is a capable system and I don't hate it. The E8 is better though. Have not used the Wolf so I won't comment there.

Eric, even you have to admit that your car is a freak of nature. It is the only car that I know of with that kind of power level running a PFC.

You have a good point Eric. But those numbers aren't common. Hell, those numbers aren't common no matter what EMS you use.
