Plus and minus between stand alones?

Ok the car first of all is a 86 automatic witch has been swapped to full drive line from a s5 turbo 5 spd welded the trans mount’s in and all,,full rear drop in/out (no engine in it yet) running the stock s4 na right now(I have a complete s5 t2 harness and all witch will be going in it ) the s5 t2 will be ported (street like port no bridge)different turbo will be next after that who knows maybe a 20b. I want to be able to make change’s at will,, in my eyes the hole point of having a stand alone in the first place

I have heard the witch is best question asked 1000 times on here but it seam hard to find out the real world difference, it seams every one has there favorite but know one says y or very little, I hear a lot about,, what ever ur turner is use to,,please none of that lol if any ones going to cost me a bunk of cash it will be me(if u want it done right do it ureself ,,may cost me a bunk in the process lol)!! so my question is what is the difference
((Examples))
Witch one or ones control spark lead and trail
Witch one can be easily adapted to a 20b if desired
Witch one controls say an s5 electric oil metering pump (guessing none) or are u stuck premixing or adapting an s4 manual set up?
Witch one use the sock harness or witch one has a harness that easily adapts
Witch uses the oem sensors excluding the mas/maf/vaf or what ever u want to call it,, and the add in map
Also witch one come with complete user control w/o extra add on software w/o taking it to some turn witch u hope is good!
(EXAMPLE APEXI POWER FC WITCH I HEAR U HAVE TO BUY EXTRAS FROM A OUTSIDE SORCES TO GET INTO THE FULL POTENAL OF THE UNIT )
Witch uses a laptop and witch uses the corny little hand held things and or both
Witch one can be used on both low impendence injector and high
Ability to Data log and interface with a wideband
I’m sure I am missing other differences key me in!!

I’m trying to get down to the nittie gritty of it all,, ever time I think I want this one or that some thing comes up I don’t like (example the power fc swap to a s5 t2 I was all 4 that until I found out about the extra soft ware to hook to the laptop and the hand held only deal)
Ps I'm not a total newbie when it comes to stand alone but I have no experience with any thing other than a accel dfi (I'm out of date lol) witch at the time,, long ago was it (and pretty much did it all piston engine’s mustang f-body extra)(well and haltech was out then to)I don’t know all the ins or outs of a rotary either ,,I do have experience with piston engines more so and there fuel injection systems I have tuned more that one few (few examples)10 sec f-body and a 8.90 1989 302 procharged mustang stock body car ,,I also have turned on my gsxr bike with a power commander(its an add in ,,piggy back) and a innovative motor sports wide bad data logger with good results!!

Those two criteria eliminates a LOT of options right there...
The only ones I know off the top of my head are Haltech, MoTeC, and AEM.
The 20B requires 6 ignition drivers to control trailing split.
Not very many aftermarket EMS' have this option.

And yes, most of us run premix.
It's the superior method of internal engine lubrication.
