M2 stage 3 ECU with the following mods

Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get your input on this setupo which I am thinking about. I want to know if it will be able to work, and maybe what 1/4 mile times I would get.

I will hopefully be getting an M2 stg 3 ECU from another member and I wanted to know if any of you have seen or are running the same types of mods.

-stock motor & seq turbos ~12 PSI
-Intake
-M2 DP
-resonated MP
-Apexi N1 exhaust
-Greddy 2 row FMIC
-Efini y-pipe & Greddy Elbow
-Hallman MBC
-stock radiator & AST (will upgrade in the future).

Do you guys think that the M2 ECU will be able to handle those mods? I would ask M2 but I dont know if they will help me since I am not getting the ECU from them.

EDIT: I just want to use the M2 temporarily with those mods. Eventually I will upgrade to an Apexi PFC and sell the M2. But for now I dont know enough about the PFC do be able to tune it myself.

TIA

Keep your boost reasonable and you should be OK. You may experience boost creep with the open exhaust...no ECU or boost controller in the world will save you from that. Then again, you may not. I'd set the boost to stock levels to start out with. If you have no creep issues you could probably raise it a bit.

You HAVE to change out that stock AST though. Don't wait, you're playing with fire. If you don't already have a boost gauge you need to get that too. Get those two things first.

M2 does NOT recommend the use of a midpipe with their ecu. Do your best to keep at 12 psi or less. I would verify on the dyno that you are not running lean, but my guess is you'll be fine.

At 12 psi, you should be around 13 flat at near 110 mph or so on street tires, provided you have a good track and know how to drive....

Well as a few of you may know I just finished installing my M2 DP. I am thinking about my next mod though.

I know that the M2 ECU should be able to handle a Greddy 2-row just fine, but do you guys know if the M2 ECU will be handle any of the BNR upgrades? is anyone running upgraded twins or maybe even stock parallel twins with their M2 stage III ECU?

so would the M2 be able to handle the following mods? mods in bold are things I dont have yet:

-HKS intakes (may swap out to Apexi intakes)
-Apexi N1 exhaust
-M2 3" DP
-Greddy 2-row FMIC
-BNRs in parallel ~12 PSI
-high flow cat (maybe)

thanks

I doubt the BNR's flow much more air at 12 psi than the stock twins, if any at all.

Jpandes ran non-sequential on a M2 ecu for a long time.

A hi-flow cat and big IC is fine. Even though I think a SMIC upgrade would serve twins better.

BTW, why are you going non-sequential? Without a midpipe and a streetported engine, you will have bad lag. You can run the BNRs as sequential.

I am still thinking about whether or not I want to go NS. Before I wanted to do it because of the boost tapering off with my stock ECU, but that doesn't happen now with my M2 ECU cause boost stays at 12 PSI all the way to redline.

I am also having a hard time deciding between a SMIC like M2 medium (which I used to like) and a Greddy 2-row. I want a FMIC because of the direct flow of air to the core. With the SMICs I just dont like the way it is set up with the small duct. I'm sure that it is pretty efficient, but I just dont like how it's setup.

I am also weighing the work invoilved with installing and rearragning my rad and having to hack up my bumper to make a FMIC fit. I'm not 100% set on a FMIC yet, but I am having a hard time deciding between a FMIC and SMIC.

You should be fine if you use your MBC to keep the boost levels down. As rynberg mentioned, I have had my M2 ECU for two years running 12-14psi with the following mods:

CAI
Lrg SMIC
removed AWS
Non-SEQ twins
Hks Ign. Amp
DP
N-Tech HF Cat
Cat-Back Exhaust

Shameless Plug: BTW, I am selling my M2 Stage 3 ECU...

Thanks for the reply jpandes, I plan on running an FMIC and maybe a resonated MP instead. I will probably just stay with the sequential setup too.

One question I had for you guys though. Right now I am running stock ignition (soon to be HKS twin power) and the stock plugs (9's and 7's). On my next plug change do you guys think I should go with all 9's? cause that's what I was gonna do.

TIA
