Ecu for mild upgrades

I just got my 93 r1. It already has a racing beat exhaust and I plan on putting a down pipe and Apex intake on it. Do you think I need an Ecu? If so which one. The car also has 90k miles on turbos and engine but still runs strong.

No, if you keep your boost at or below 10psi you should be fine fuel-wise. Though I wouldn't recommend an open, unshielded intake like the Apex'i. Hotter intake air is bad for power and increases the likelihood of knock, IMO a mod like that will do more harm than good.

See some of my wideband tests at www.wvinter.net/~flanham/wlanham . Go to "Myths: 3 mod rule and wideband tests."
