ECU for an Automatic
ECU for an Automatic
Just to verify, does the Apex'i PFC now support the Automatic transmission? Is anyone running it right now with an auto, and how is it working for you?
Thanks for your time

no the pfc does not support the automatic, and neither does any stand alone ecu. the automatic has a seperate trans computer and no manufacturer provides an interface so that the two ecus can "talk". Your options are:
1. remapped auto ecu
2. piggyback computer (PFS PMC, greddy emanage?)
3. standalone piggybacked
4. standalone with trans ecu "stranded"
I run the pfc with the trans comp "stranded", meaning it gets no input from the ecu. As a result the hold light flashes continuously and there is no hold function. There are some other things too, like no ignition retard during shifts, etc. BTW if the tranny is stock it will not hold up to big power mods.

The power fc does work on a auto and maintains use of the hold light but you need to have the later model auto post 96 model, and the second series power fc for 96-98 cars. I know cause I have one on my 98 auto.

I think people have had decent, not great success with the PFS purple box (AKA EFI). Greddy emanage is new-don't know much about it. Easiest is probably PFC and just suck it up re: the minor incompatibilities.
