Fried ECU, what else

I'm looking at a car that won't start becasue the guy said he fried the 'computer' when trying to jump start it. I'm think ECU, but what else could it be, and how much for a ECU... Is this something that can be done fairly easily? Thanks

It sounds like he hooked up the battery backwards. There is no telling what kind of damage was done. It may be an easy fix, or the car may be totalled. If you can get it for next to nothing, and you don't mind spending hours, weeks, or months troubleshooting all the wiring, then it may be worth getting. Otherwise, I would pass on that car and look for something that actually works.

Are you considering a stock ECU, or an aftermarket EMS?

Check the 80 amp fuss under the hood, black one. Just a thought.
