Changing from AFM to MAF

Anyone in here have any experience with changing to a MAF setup like the Split Second setup?
Any info that might pertain to it would be appreciated.

I thought that AFM and MAF were the same thing (flapper door) and that MAP was the other kind (wire, no door) ?

MAP is Manifold Absolute Pressure. It is not a measurement of air flow at all, rather, a measurement of the pressure (sort of like a boost/vaccum guage).

It is good to change to an ECU with a MAP sensor when you want to reduce the restriction in the intake on an AFM fitted car, as the AFM can be removed.

Also, Blow off valves can then be vented to the atmosphere without fear of unmetered air leaking through the BOV under vaccum.

The wire (no door) thing is just another AFM, i think called a vortex AFM or vane AFM (but I might be wrong). I don't know what MAF is.
