Basics of tunning
I will be going with a microtech LT8 or haltech E6X pretty soon here. Havent decided yet. I know that I will need a wideband and a EGT gauge. What else do I need and how do I use these items to tune my car? Can someone just give me the steps and what you do when you are tuning?
Thanks
Thanks
Take the car to your local rotary race shop and have them install and tune whichever EMS they can tune to run your car as you specify. You usually get a good package deal if you buy the EMS through them, but you should still check pricing, as some tuners don't like to deal with ordering an EMS. You don't need to buy a wideband sensor, as the shop will have their own if they like tuning with one.
Sorry, I know that you want a quick lesson in how to install and tune an EMS, but it's almost like asking what you need to perform brain surgery on yourself. You will be much better off in the long run if you have a professional do the work. Sometimes the pro shop will show you how to tune the EMS, and you can tweak it on your own once the major work is done.

If you want to start doing this, you need a good understanding of how the engine works in relation to fuel delivery and ignition timing.
There are several good books available, and do a search for "books" in this section for some suggestions.
