avcr please help
avcr please help
I searched for a while but couldn't find much concerning my problem.
I just bought an 93 rx7 with the AVCR and a seperate blow off valve installed. I should mentioned that I bought the car from CA where it supposedly ran fine. I am now 6000 feet higher and I am having serious boost problems. The boost with the AVCR turned off only reaches .5 KG or 7 psi which I read is normal. Playing with boost and cycle settings (and I have done it for 50 miles and several hours) I can't get more than .6 kg or 8.5 psi. These levels are taken from the Apexi unit and are dead even with a Autometer gauge. I took care of setting up all parameters of the unit again but no change. I checked the typical leak problems but couldn't find anything. Clamped the secondary throttle hose just to make sure. Checked all the hoses and bingo found the "com" and "no" hoses on the boost selenoid reversed. All happy jumped into the car but still no difference.
Can anyone over a short cut for this problem?
Thanks
Claus

Is the AVC-R solenoid working? When the pressure sensor starts reading pressure, you will hear a "rattle" coming from the AVC-R's solenoid. Try to do a boost leak check with the power running to the AVC-R and listen for the solenoid cycling. It's the only thing I can think of.
