What turbo(s) do drift with? (rotary only)

Since this thread doesn't exist, i thought i'd start it.

I am n/a right now plan on going turbo eventually. There are other n/a guys wanting to boost as well and there are some turbo guys that may want to change their setup or dial in their setup to suit their needs more.

I was just wondering what you turbo guys spool with and how it's working out for you as detailed as you can be. Some people are running stock, some aren't.

Things such as number of turbos (equal sized independent twins, sequential twins, single), trim, a/r, exducer, inducer, ball bearing, journal bearing, water cooleda, afrs, aits, psi's, power output, full boost rpm and dyno graphs.

If you're running an internal gate, let us know if it's ported, modified or stock. If you're running aftermarket, what size and brand.

I feel downpipe sizing and intercoolers are pretty self explanitory and they are covered enough in other threads elsewhere on the forum.

Whatever you can input to make this a good thread that would be helpful to myself and others, by all means post it.

Well i personally plan on taking a streetported T2 to 300-350 whp. I was going to use an hx55 but it's too large and will produce significant lag so i decided a medium framed (for holsets anyway) hy35 or hx35 will do the job fine. Those turbos are so cheap to obtain and rebuild it's not even funny. The 35 series are comparable to the 60-1 .63 a/r and the t4 gt30-35r turbos. 350hp and midrange-topend power with good throttle response is my goal. I will be able to pull off higher speed drifts without losing angle and just using the gas to keep it. No clutch kicking and no reving to 7-9k. Even for low speed technical go-cart style turns, i'll have power on tap. That's just me though. I'm stopping a 350.

really doesn't matter what turbo you use. just clutch kick and pull the e-break man. but check out a GT30r or something that should be sufficient or maybe a 20g or T04S

20g = overpriced mitsufeces fail and wack-*** mitsufeces flange.

What turbo are you using? What are your experiences with it....etc, etc. If you read my post, it's just not for me. It's a general gathering of in-depth info about turbo setup and drift style. What works for some may not work for others. See what i mean?

I already know what i'm going to run. Wether or not people approve is their problem. I love holsets. I'd love a 35r but for $200, i'll take the holset hx/hy35 over 500rpm quicker spool. That's what open downpipe cutout's are for.

<--- GT35r

get a A/R, and other specs that in inline with what you are looking for that car to be... but that is with any turbo purchase.
