What exhaust setup?

im looking at ordering a new header/exhaust setup for my na s4. i was thinking of the street headers but the road race might offer more hp. i am looking at doing a single exit and get my apexi tip welded on with a 3in in. but i was going to run 2.5 off whatever i go with as a cat.

so the question is what should i get for a header? should i get a presilncer or just high flow cat?

I dont think it's going to matter much dude.

You're in the wrong section to be asking such things.

Everyone here either is boosted, wants boost or wants another rotor, possibly with boost.

Agreed. It's loud as ****. Youtube sound clips.

Atleast put a burns muffler or something inline if you want no can showing back there. I'm not a fan of fart canister mufflers....

I have the Corksport header back exhaust system. WOW! haha It's loud as ***** but Im not looking back. Sounds awesome! ha Love single exhaust. Ceramic coat or exhaust wrap your headers. Drops exhaust temps down in the bay tremendously and helps engine performance.

RB Header + Bonez cat to apexi n1 evoltion is my setup. I love it. It's a little loud, but nothing like a straight pipe. Power gains are solid too.

But if you want to do a straight through get a control valve so you can quiet it down around town and then open it up on the track.

Yeah. Dont street drift. Playing in my dead end doesn't count for anything since i'm there in two seconds.

Should sound good tho. Not sure how many people are into that deep sound but if you're one of those types, wrap your header and mid pipe. Try to get thick-ish piping too. Nothing crazy. .045 or .035 wall should do the trick and is relatively cheap.

Use a magnaflow muffler in the cat area to cut back on drones and raspyness.

Something like this.

the drone and raspyness doesn't really bother me, right now my car is strait piped with 2in pipe and has a cherry bomb for a cat. it was already like this when i bought the car, i dont agree with it but its just how it is for now. but i appreciate all the input

The cherry bomb is probably melted out by now. You need stainless steel packed mufflers to withstand the high EGT's.

For an NA 2.5" is a good diameter. Why are you against having an inline muffler to clean up the exhaust note? There are extremely minimal gains running without one.

well i can tolerate the noise that it will make, so i cant justify spending the extra cash on buying a muffler to put inline. i will be running a apexi tip so it will muffle out some of the drone and raspyness, not as much as a muffler would im sure, but i just have to live with this setup till this winter, then im going turbo
