I remembered today that I had some preload on my coilovers. Do you think if I got rid of it, that it would help? And instead of buying all new coilovers, would it be better to just buy softer springs?

You could try it.

I think you should grab some calipers, measure the diameter of your coilovers and order some springs from someone else that are softer though if you want a better ride quality.

i ran both sways for about two years, then found out about taking the rear off... AFTER i had already gotten a good feel for the car. i drove like this for around two more years. then after finding out because of my ride height ( my front sway was hitting the frame rails) along with needing more front steering clearance i removed the front. overall the car feels more stable sideways, with much stronger "bite" at angle.

i had this same problem for a long time. this is just how i overcame it...

i set my Megan's to full hard when drifting. it didn't make the snap oversteer go away but it made it more predicatble and easier to handle, for me atleast. i'm also still running stock T2 sway bars.

countersteering way way sooner then i was use to. it comes natural now but before i was way too late. just gotta trust the FC will do what you want it to do when you want it to. small wheel base magic FTW

practice practice practice practice. and remember, set the car up for YOU. don't use other peoples settings and try to learn it or overcome it. you'll just wonder why your sucking so bad but your buddy is doing awesome with the same set up. use it as a starting point and then tune to find YOUR setting. it makes all the difference in the world.

i hope this helps, i wanna see more FC's sliding their asses off so don't give up!!!!

Boostinmys5, would you recommend not running the swaybars on a DD? i could see how on a full race car it probably wouldn't hurt to take them off, assuming the car is caged, seem welded, and stiffened to all hell.

honestly you need to balance you spring rate more in accordance to your damper rate.stiff but not bouncy, soft spring rate and a hard damper level...sway bars don't really affect driving characteristics until higher speeds,if you make the sway bars to hard, the reaction(tension) point is what you will feel before your struts/coils have time to react (bound and rebound),sway bars only need to be adjusted(stiffened/loosend) if your compressing the suspension to the point of tripoding.

When you corner so hard one wheel comes off of the ground.

Does power effect the decision of keeping and removing the sway bars?

Dunno. I'm thinking of putting my rear back on now and keeping the front off.

Front feels fine, rear feels kinda sloppy when i took it out for a spin the other day. Like i could kick it out and keep it out but when transitioning, it didn't feel too smooth. Maybe it's just me learning how to control the throttle and a bit too much steering input. I for sure want a cage now. Just to stiffen up the chassis. I'll ask my mom's bf because he's pretty ace at that. I like the cage he built for his son's mustang.

I'll play around some more before i reach a verdict.

Power does play a bit of a role but it's all preference in setup. Seriously. Not everyone drives the same and "feels the car" the same.

I can't drive my friend andrew's car for **** but he likes it. I'd change a few of his settings for me because of how i drive and feel the car but he drives very well with the way HE has it set up.
