U still dont have dtss? I wonder how your drifting is going to be after you get that. Man, it's cheap and easy. The only bitch part is getting those rear axle nuts off. It took me and my 250lb brother (combined 400lbs) on the end of a long pipe to break them loose. Yes, we did punch out the dent first. Shit was on there rediculous tight. What ever happened to using a cotter pin and a castle nut? Works just as well.

My setup as follows (not installed. Pending some shizz)

MMR DTSS
OLD 3rd(?) hand JIC coilovers w/camber plates w/unkown front springs. They look like kei office..... Who else makes green springs besides tein and they're lighter than tein's powdercoating?
Mazdatrix rear camber arm
Megan racing bump steer kit
Secret element tie rods
new oem lower ball joints
Removed rear sway bar (was taking the subframe off today anyway so why not?)
Pending a welded diff b/c life is full of dissapoint.......

Cant wait to test it.... I often find myself chewing my nails wondering how the car is going to drive after i slap all this shit on.

yeah I dont really have much on suspension. But it still drives nyyceeeeee.. The one Iwant the most is new diff mounts, it getting annoying when I shift hard I hear a Cllunkk..

no rear sway bar

yeah..

i need new diff mounts, it started to clunk again when I clutch kick..... I wonder how it will feel once i get dtss eliminators and my knuckles modded..

How well does that NA diff hold up? Thinking of doing getting the d-shaft from Mazdatrix so I don't have to do the entire rear end, if/when I do a TII swap.

dkwasherexd 03-09-09 11:11 PM

its holdin up. I still have been daily driving it and have done about 5 drift events in a row. The diff is leaking gear oil a bit, just small drips. I think I have to re seal the diff housing with new rtv... The only thing not holding up are the dang diff mounts.

well see for yourself. And to those guys who doubted me in the beggining when I wrote a article and made the welded diff thread, I proved you guys wrong. haha lol

Save the money and spend it on events dude!

You really need seat time, not knuckles :)

NoPistons! 03-10-09 02:22 PM

Yeah. Gotta try to keep from spinning out. You're not going to hold angle like jtp overnight if you can't hold angle with extended tie rods..... I do think dtss elims can help you with spinning out a little bit. Look into it! Not knocking you, i'm just saying you should try them before going with modded nuckles. Mine are off the car now and the machine shop is 10 minutes away..... It's so fucking tempting.

get DTSS eliminated.

and drive more. Seriously, you wont notice any difference from the knuckles until you get better.

lol.

I didn't get mine in last night. FTR, dtss bushing rubber smells like mac n cheese when you burn it in the oven. I took a torch to them. Going with the hacksaw method to get the sleeves out. Broke my buddies bench vise and we were waiting on a friend 2 bring 2 he had over. I'm impatient so hacksaw it is. Lol.

EASY way is to take it to a shop and have them do it. However, the hard way is the best way b/c it's all up hill from there and you can say you took your shit out the mans way! With force and brute tooling.

Hmmmm... I just found a socket that matched the size of the bushing, put it on top of the bushing, and hammered the socket lightly. Came right out. Maybe you just like to do everything the hard (mans) way? :Wconfused

Did you heat the bushing mount up first? You wouldn't believe how much rust fell out of mine when i popped the dust caps off. I tried hammering the socket w/o heat and it wasn't happening. There was no "light tapping". I beat on it with an 8lb hammer. It came out a little bit but i'm going to try a vice. My has an hydro press but doesn't know where it is...... lol. We need more tools.

Hmmm, my car has zero rust, so I guess in general my car is in better shape. Maybe that's why all my bushings have been much easier to install than everyone says.

NoPistons! 03-12-09 02:16 PM

Could be and you scored a nice fc then.

My rust problem isn't too bad. I haven't had any bolts that fought with me more than they should. Rust is at a minimum tho. It's just old and hasn't seen any love for a long time. I feel you shouldn't own an rx if you dont love it.
