Stu's Drift Build

On February 18th we bought another Rx7. This Rx7 was a 1988 Turbo model, with many parts and a blown engine.

This car is in great shape, has a body kit, racing seat with harness, Microtech standalone engine management, v mount intercooler, dual oil coolers, strut braces, new fuel tank and much more. The engine has many extras as well such as, upgraded injectors, upgraded t4 turbo, 3inch exhaust, hks blow off valve, an external waste gate, and a gm coil conversion. The engine is a stock 6 port.

More pictures of the car.

The first plan with this car is to rebuild the engine, then get a roll cage.

The tear down begins.

Detonation is not good.

The "theory" is to save the rotors, and replace the housings

The "theory" is to save the rotors, and replace the housings using the ones from the previous engine above.

Transmission removed for replacement, 5th gear was busted.

Replacement transmission.

Mike Feiock hooked me up with some super apex seals

Inspecting eccentric shafts.

A balancing act.

Checking rotor bearings. (The old fashion way)\

I'm not a big fan of the headlights but it still looks kinda cool. Different from most drift car builds. What exhaust is that? Those tips are huge!
