PDM or Stance

I love my Cuscos but they wont go any lower without relieving any spring preload. And i just want my car lower. So it seems i am left with 2 choices - PBM or Stance. I was about to call Max and order theirs BUT i read some reviews on Zilvia and everybody is whining about how stiff their coilovers are. Even on full soft. Normally I wouldnt care about it. However I only have one car and I have to drive it almost 2 hours a day to and from work on some of the shittiest roads ever made. I mean horrible, like the road has a serious case of mutant swine flu gonorrhea bad.

I kinda dont want stance because i feel like its just a "bandwagon" coilover and people are just getting them because its the flavor of the week. They seem pretty solid though

So does anybody have ANY experience with either of these? Because I don't have any experience with either one.
Or
Could anybody suggest a similar option with a non-ridiculous price tag (ridiculous=DG-5)

i like your attitude, you'll get used to the stiffness, its really noticeable at first but you'll forget it quick. san diego has some uber shitty roads and I only notice them if i go over something major

Never driven on PBM but have Stance and I actually liked them. Stiffer spring rates will make the car react faster and can be hard to control at higher speeds and can induce understeer at lower speeds. I mean do they not offer different spring rates within the same manufacturer??

I am used to Japanese coilovers. I actually use Ohlins and you can get different spring rates for your coilovers.

To tell you the truth they feel just as heavy as the GR pro + when out of the car -I was kinda kicking myself for getting the AL and the fact that I waited for about 3 months to get them.

aluminum doesn't rust though....

I just cleaned off the rust that was on the threads and body of my jics.

It keeps comming back, even after clear coating them..... ************.

Mostly for anti-corrosion.

But try comparing the bare damper GR+ Steel versus AL+ Alum shock.

Its almost 3lbs per shock.

IMO the PBM and Stance have both become "bandwagon" coilovers, but I still have them on my FC. they are stiff yes, but any coilover is going to be stiffer on the street than some bullchit spring/shock combo. man up.

the choice is up to you, they're about the same price, performance, and quality. if you're really a crybaby turn the rebound all the way to soft for the street.

stance gr+ pros are solid, my only complaint would be towards the wrenches they give you, but whatever... Stiffness isn't terrible, like others said, lower the dampening if you want it softer for streets, takes a whole 30 seconds to adjust all 4 corners...and considering Michigan roads the ride is not near as bad as I imagined after reading everyone's reviews..

its definitely not unbearable, just like any other lowered car you have to constantly watch out for pot holes n ****, but that's for saving body parts, wheels, etc...

side note: I dropped the rear about 2 inches before the camber started to even be affected.. i woulda made a post 2 weeks ago when i first saw this thread but i thought you had already made the purchase. hit up ARD_T2 - Rishie for coilovers.

Side note for me...

I'm actually going to order stiffer springs for the rear... this is actually a nice option from Stance... they have just about any springrate you want and are reasonably priced.

I don't think they are that stiff out of the box.
