The FC and FD drifters here in Japan all use PS.

PS is good for transitions most of the pros use it no matter how much muscle. i dont have it right now but im gonna get it. its just good for transitioning from left to right or vise versa. also if you have the steering knuckle mod it helps out alot too. =)

I took my PWS out. did the depower mods and I am fine with it. It took some getting used to in the very beginning but now I have now problems with it at all. When driving I don't even notice.

Now when doing small parking lots or gymkhana and autocross tight fast transitions are a bit more work but I really don't notice until I get in a car that has PS. Then think Damn thats too f'n easy. I think power steering is better overall so if you can fix yours then I would but if you cant don't be afraid to rip it out just do the depower mods

yeah i think ranzo put it about as detailed and CORRECT as it gets. i havent had it dont like it for Daily Driving. but for tight transitions that would be very nice.
