new drift car
hey all, starting my new build up my new toy, a 86 TII rx7. just a budget drifter. tell me what all you think, im open to any input, or suggestions, thanks.
plans so far include of course good coil overs, sways frt n rear, poly bushings, lsd, custom roll cage, lexan for all glass, body kit.. just something to catch the eye, have 3 sets of wheels so far (17s aftermarket and 2 sets of 18s off my z), and for more or less, loosing as much weight as possible with carbon fiber where possible or shaving steel and stich welding. naturally going to mod the spindles for max steer angle and best part, this car will never be streeted so i can go crazy.
also kicking ideas around for paint. thinking of either bright kandy green or light kandy blue.
have been kicking the idea of a vq35 swap as well
ill update every now and then, at the moment its just stripped down to chassis and motor, and the motor will come out this weekend or next..

First off... some of your listed mods are not so budget, at least for me anyway, some people budget builds are on different scales. Carbon fiber is expensive.
I would forego the sway bars for a while, personally I keep stock ones. Could use that money and get the Heim joint end links from mazdatrix.
Other than that looks good and have fun with your build

jesus christ.
get rid of that whale tail wing/yellow painted FTP's/ and repaint the wheels another color.
That thing looks like it was owned by some illegal aliens. All your missing is some chrome fender trim and an Old English "Gonzales/etc" family vinyl in the back.

yup yup good start on the other hand theyre right about the mods tho. candy paint is more expensive by itself than most mods. good plans but definately not gonna be a good drift car to start off. your really gonna be trying not to hurt it the whole time. while alot of us drive daily drifters so we dont want them to be hur anyways your ognna be worried about driving the gravel going to work after spending that much money on paint and cosmetics.

im a body man, so none of this bothers me.. plus this will NEVER be driven on streets, ever... race car only, and kandy will cost me only 200 extra bucks

ripped off front clip, ready to stitch weld and for reinforcements to be added, i plan on beefing up the aprons incase a glancing hit to wall so i can try to save my suspension
the all-mexican vynals everywhere... im still leaning towards making a cf hatch just for the different look it will give
busted out window when i got it..
interior stripped and waiting for tubing to come in for roll cage, my new drill and tubing notcher are on their way
having a potential buyer so maybe i can get a vq set in soon
