Hello, my name is Alex. I have a 1986 fc3s turbo ii and i like to slide.
Anyways i have had a hard time keeping my car cool, especially in the summer.(Louisiana)
After one lap my car can reach 200f easy, i never let it go over this though. This can be a real pain when i am doing competition. It has on it now a rotary works v mount with one 16inch fan. When i drive on the highway and suburbs it never exceeds 175f. As of now it is running rich (idk if that should effect my temp or not) and i have a tiny little leak on my water pump gasket. Those are my two main ideas for the problem, un less i don't have a problem in the first place and im crazy. Am i being over protective of my engine? What temps are yall running? How can i keep my car cooler? I if that's not to hot than what temp should i be concerned about? Any advice would be a big help. criticisms are welcome.

190 is running temp if I remember right.
Also the tiny leak in the water pump gasket is probably the water pump going out. it start leaking through a small hole underneath when it wears out. also consider getting ducting for your vmount. to prevent the air from going around the intercooler/radiator. I think your seals should fry at about 230 degrees. also check your oil cooler. they have a thermostat in them that can get clogged. if that happens you minus whale not have one at all. oil cooling is the kill all on rotaries. good luck.

ill order a new water pump, design some ducting, and maybe a bigger oil cooler. The guy i used rtv instead of a gasket. I have been searching for a racing or aftermarket water pump but i cant find one for a s4 13bt. Really any water pump with better flow. Will an s5 water pump fit the s4? or if u know of any better water pump?

also make sure the fan can support the cfm needed to cool the car under racing situations. look into a spal or FAL fan if your current one isnt up to the task.
