I dont have the time to read through this entire thread before posting (library time limit)...
Not the best cage, but I do believe that it will do what you want it to, which as far as I can gather is:
1: Stiffen the car.
2: Not break
3: Support the vehicle enough that if you do crash, you aren't DOA
Rock on for taking the initiative. You do need a bit more practice with a mig welder though. Im not trying to flame you...so please don't take it that way.

i have no clue man. I dont know much about welders, in fact I really want to learn more about welding. All I know is the schools welders are MIG, and has gas.. I could adjust the watts and wirespeed.. pretty awesome, you can really fine adjust it to the metals thickness.. but yeah whats fluxcore? the wire that comes out? teachh me guys & flame me... its a autobody class so the teach hasnt really gotten into detail on the welding... I kinda just learned myself and classmates showed me...learned it on that 300 dorra cage haha. I heard tig welders are better for cages because they fill up more?

yeah I noticed that too, I changed the settings on the last day i welded it in , and it was penetrating through the chassis.. My chassis underbody caught on fire lol, had to blow it out. I guess theres like sound deadening or some coating thing flamable under the chassis..
