TX Couple questions about other drift builds

In the middle of my FC build and I had a couple questions about others drift builds.

1. For those using electric fans, thermo or manual switch?

2. Anyone using an ignition system with rev limiter? Mind sharing your set-up?

3. I'm utilizing the V-mount int/rad set-up. Suggestions on factory oil cooler placement?

Thanks,

Andrew

1. Thermo with a manual override.

2. Microtech LT10S with fuel cut.

3. Put it in the mouth of the V mount, between the rad and intercooler perpendicular to the ground. Make sure you duct the V mount.

I would suggest running a dual oil cooler upgrade. I saw that CXracing sells the actual oil cooler for a decent price. Rene is prolly running them on his 3 rotor car. just peice one together slowly. Cooling upgrades are always one of the best things you could ever do to our cars regardless of what your doing (drifting, drag, autox, etc.)

Heres their Ebay store

I would get a quality Earls oil cooler over an ebay one. An Earls cooler will cool better for its size and be stronger for when you have an off.

a couple cheap oil coolers, no thermostats, ignition cut would be nice (im running microtech lt10), fan on switch. running temp is 150 no fan. drifting temp never goes over 190- ever even continuious drifting.

thats what im sayin.

I ran an Efan for a lil, it sucked so I modded the OE shoroud to fit over, and still had room for the clutch fan so I put that back on. Drifting temp ~180 on stock rad

The OE shroud works wonders... I was seeing 230+ without it, put it back on and I see 205 at the most... BEATING on the car... I'm pretty ruthless on this poor 13b

As said above do the fan on a thermo with manual overide.

Oil coolers are inexpensive -look on summit racing's site... if you don't have a good amount of disposable income buy something with pistons.

Anyone heard of or used the Sneed's Speed Shop fans and shrouds? Great price. Check them out...

I will most likely be going with the new Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 for EMS with plug-n-play harness.

At most you should drill a small hole in a thermostat but removing it completely is stupid.
